    iPhone 18: How Far Has the iPhone Really Come?

Apple confirms the iPhone 14 Pro introduced Dynamic Island and the first 48MP main iPhone camera; the 15 Pro introduced titanium, A17 Pro and the Action button; the 16 Pro brought A18 Pro, Camera Control and 4K120 Dolby Vision; and the 17 Pro moved to A19 Pro, vapor-chamber cooling and three 48MP rear cameras. For the current generation, Apple confirms the 18 Pro/Max use A20 Pro, variable aperture, upgraded thermal management, a smaller Dynamic Island and up to 36/45 hours of video playback on eSIM models.     Mirthspawn Is Almost Here — But Let’s Talk About Mental Health!

    Mirthspawn is only a couple of weeks away from launch, and there’s a lot happening behind the scenes. In this episode of Thomas Talks, Thomas gives an update on Mirthspawn, talks about working on three other companies at the same time, and explains why the podcast hasn’t been forgotten—even with everything else demanding his attention. But the main focus of this episode is something bigger: mental health. Backed by current research and statistics from organizations including SAMHSA, the CDC, and the World Health Organization, Thomas talks about the pressure to always appear okay, burnout, entrepreneurship, loneliness, young people’s mental health, the importance of real human connection, and why asking for help shouldn’t be viewed as weakness. It’s also a personal conversation about ambition—how easy it can be to become so focused on building businesses, chasing goals, and preparing for what’s next that you forget to take care of the person doing all the building.     ADHD: The Struggle People Don’t Always See!

    Centers for Disease Control and Prevention — ADHD in Adults: ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder beginning in childhood that often continues into adulthood; adult symptoms may affect work, relationships, daily tasks, and healthy behaviors. National Institute of Mental Health — ADHD: ADHD involves persistent inattention, hyperactivity, and/or impulsivity. Adult difficulties can include organization, procrastination, time management, remembering tasks, following instructions, and completing projects. CDC / National Center for Health Statistics: Based on a 2023 national survey, an estimated 15.5 million U.S. adults—6.0% of adults—reported a current ADHD diagnosis, and 55.9% of those adults reported being diagnosed at age 18 or older. CDC — ADHD in the Classroom: Children with ADHD face more obstacles to school success than the average student, and educational supports may include organizational training, behavioral interventions, IEPs, and Section 504 accommodations. Americans with Disabilities Act / U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission: Disability protections can apply when an impairment substantially limits major life activities including learning, concentrating, thinking, and working. Reasonable workplace accommodations may be available to qualified employees depending on individual circumstances. Research on employment outcomes: A systematic review of longitudinal research found a history of ADHD associated with greater educational impairment, occupational difficulties, job instability, and impaired job performance.

    Faith, Peace, Love & Strength “Peace Through Strength — But Strength Through Faith!"

    Research foundation for the episode: Christianity in America: Pew's 2023–24 Religious Landscape Study found that 62% of U.S. adults identify as Christian, while 29% are religiously unaffiliated. Importance of faith: Pew found that about four-in-ten Americans say religion is very important in their lives, while 44% say the Bible is extremely or very important to them. Christian values: Pew found large majorities of Christians consider honesty, kindness, belief in God, a personal relationship with Jesus, and helping those in need important to Christian identity. Religion and American communities: 80% of Americans surveyed said churches and religious organizations bring people together and strengthen community bonds, while 78% said they play an important role in helping the poor and needy. Religious freedom: The First Amendment's religion clauses establish both protection for the free exercise of religion and a restriction against government establishment of religion. Revelation: Revelation 21 presents the Christian hope of a renewed creation and describes a future in which death, mourning, crying and pain are gone. Current president's public faith: President Donald Trump has publicly participated in Scripture and Bible-reading events, including a recent reading of 2 Chronicles 7:14.     Growing Up American: Family, Work, and the Changing American Dream!

    RESEARCH NOTES / FACT CHECKINGU.S. unemployment Historical BLS data show approximately: 1950: 5.3% 1960: 5.5% 1970: 4.9% 1975: 8.5% 1980: 7.1% This is why the episode avoids claiming that finding work was universally easy in the 1950s–80s. Historical BLS data show: 1950: ~14.0 million 1960: ~15.4 million 1970: ~17.9 million 1979: ~19.4 million 1980: ~18.7 million 2019: ~12.8 million This illustrates the enormous structural change in the American labor market. The Census Bureau reports: About 85% of children under 18 lived with two parents in 1968 About 70% did in 2020 Children living with their mother only increased from about 11% to 21% over that period. The Census Bureau also reports that married-couple households represented approximately 71% of all households in 1970, compared with 47% in 2022. In 2024: About 64% of households were family households About 29% were one-person households In 1974, one-person households represented about 19% Families with their own children under 18 fell from about 54% in 1974 to 39% in 2024. June 2026 had approximately 7.36 million job openings and 5.35 million hires, demonstrating why it would be inaccurate to simply describe today's America as having "no jobs." BLS's 2024 employment projections show that roughly: 25% of employment was in occupations typically requiring a bachelor's degree for entry 35.7% required a high-school diploma or equivalent 23.7% required no formal educational credential. BLS reports: 1983: 20.1% union membership rate 2024: 9.9% 1983 is the first year for which comparable modern BLS union data are available.     “AMERICA’S NUCLEAR POWER” The Force That Changed the World!

    * I HAD TO CUT OUT THE MUSIC AS IT DID NOT GET RECORDED ON MY END * For the episode, the following figures and claims should be treated as the factual backbone: U.S. nuclear inventory: Federation of American Scientists estimates approximately 5,042 total U.S. nuclear warheads in 2026, including approximately 3,700 in the military stockpile. Russia is estimated at approximately 5,420 total. U.S. deployed strategic nuclear warheads: FAS estimates approximately 1,670 U.S. deployed strategic warheads in 2026. Nuclear triad: U.S. strategic nuclear forces consist of land-based ICBMs, submarine-launched ballistic missiles, and nuclear-capable heavy bombers. Ohio-class SSBNs: The Navy currently operates 14 Ohio-class ballistic-missile submarines. They are designed for extended deterrent patrols and form the sea-based leg of the triad. Trident II D5: The Navy describes the Trident II D5 as a three-stage, solid-fuel SLBM with a publicly listed range of approximately 4,000 nautical miles and MIRV capability.
