Can You Really Trust Your Gut? One Doctor Says No, Unless You Do This First!

A doctor who studies gut feelings for a living wrote a fascinating article in the Washington Post this month. We learn about the science behind a gut feeling and when and how to know whether to trust it. Researchers found that people who make quick judgements based on gut feelings alone, only get it right around 54% of the time. Instead, scientists say you should treat gut feelings as stop signs, a moment to assess what you’re feeling and why before making a rash decision. They even suggest doing two specific exercises to interrupt the hormonal surge that happens when a “gut feeling” takes over your body. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The 8 Things Emotionally Secure People Never Share About Themselves

This is a list that will have many of you questioning how much you share with others, who you share that information with, and why you’re sharing it in the first place. Oversharing is a common trait in many of us, but sharing itself isn’t the problem, it’s when you’re sharing to get affirmation that’s at issue. Emotionally secure people don’t need their life to be witnessed in order to feel seen, and they don’t need others to confirm what they already know about themselves. We’ll go over the 8 things emotionally secure people keep to themselves, and how they choose to share their stories in a more meaningful way. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Alabama Executing Inmate Convicted Of A 1998 Double Murder, Who A Jury Voted to Spare

49-year-old Jeffery Lee is set to become Alabama’s second execution of the year at 6 pm ET. Lee was scheduled to die back in June via nitrogen gas for the double murder of a pawn shop owner and his employee. Lee also shot and thought he killed a second employee who played dead, but was able to call 9-1-1 and identify Lee. Lee was only sentenced to death after a judge overruled a jury of his peers who voted 7 to 5 for life in prison. A 2017 law in Alabama no longer allows judges to overrule a jury’s ruling, but it’s not retroactive, and does nothing to spare Lee from dying by lethal injection this evening. RENTER BEWARE: DO NOT Rent From Vrbo Before You Hear This Episode!

We recorded this episode as a public service to anyone who is considering using Vrbo for their next vacation. Sadly, we were loyal customers for several years, renting through Vrbo multiple times a year. However, when we had such a difficult experience at a home over the summer, the homeowner refunded a percentage of our prepaid rental fee, only to have Vrbo, days later take $5,000 from us without asking, and without explanation. After hours on the phone, multiple calls, and multiple emails where all parties agreed we had NOTHING to do with an insurance claim, Vrbo has still refused to return money that wasn’t never meant to be charged to our our credit card. Everyone who is thinking about renting a home, needs to hear our story first. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

But that proposed generosity has strings attached, Trump making clear in his latest social media post that a planned renovation won’t happen until the building is allowed to bear his name.
