AI Overload - Do You Really Need Another AI Tool?

ChatGPT. Copilot. Claude. Gemini. And another new AI tool seemingly appearing every day. How is any business supposed to keep up? In this episode of AI Matters, Kath admits she's feeling the AI overload and asks Andrew whether businesses really need to chase every new piece of technology that comes along. His answer may come as a relief: stop worrying about what you haven't got and start looking at what you're already paying for. Kath and Andrew explore how businesses could be missing valuable AI capabilities already sitting inside their existing technology, why understanding how to use AI matters more than simply buying it, and how emerging AI agents are beginning to move Artificial Intelligence from being a tool to becoming something much more like a colleague. Because the competitive advantage isn't necessarily having the latest AI. It's knowing how to make the technology you already have work for your business. AI & Professional Services: If AI Does the Work in Minutes, What Are Clients Paying For?

What happens to the billable hour when Artificial Intelligence can do ten hours of work in 30 minutes? In this sector-specific episode of AI Matters, Kath Lord-Green and Andrew Bel-Dean explore how AI is beginning to challenge one of the foundations of professional services: charging clients for time. From law and accountancy to consulting, recruitment, architecture, marketing and insurance, AI can now complete research, document reviews, analysis, drafting and other time-consuming tasks in a fraction of the time they once took. But if the hours disappear, what happens to revenue, pricing and the value clients believe they're paying for? Kath and Andrew explore why professional services may need to move from selling hours to selling outcomes and capability, and why faster delivery doesn't necessarily mean the work itself is less valuable. They also look at another major consequence of AI adoption: what happens to junior and entry-level roles when AI takes over much of the traditional "legwork" through which people once learned their profession? Andrew explains why AI skills, apprenticeships, mentorship and learning to question AI output could become increasingly important in developing the next generation of professionals. And could AI actually level the playing field, allowing smaller professional services firms and sole traders to access capabilities once available only to much larger organisations? The key message is clear: AI may change how professional expertise is delivered, but human accountability, judgement and trust still matter. If you work in professional services, this is an episode you need to hear because the question is no longer simply "How can we use AI?" It's "What will our clients value and pay us for when AI changes the time it takes to deliver the work?" What Would Happen to YOUR Business If Your AI Disappeared Tomorrow?

Businesses are rapidly building AI into everyday operations, but what happens if that technology suddenly becomes unavailable? In this episode of AI Matters, Kath and Andrew explore a question many organisations haven't yet considered: how dependent are we becoming on Artificial Intelligence? From CRM and finance systems to HR, procurement, sales and automation, AI is becoming increasingly embedded in the way businesses operate. They discuss AI outages, our reliance on third-party technology providers, the importance of retaining human knowledge and why businesses need to understand exactly where AI sits within their operations. The big takeaway? Don't just plan for what AI can do for your business. Ask what your business would do if AI wasn't there. Is AI Really Taking Your Job?

Everywhere you look, people are worried that Artificial Intelligence is replacing jobs. But is that really true? In this episode, Kath Lord-Green and Andrew Bel-Dean explore one of the biggest myths surrounding AI. Rather than replacing people, AI is redesigning the way we work by automating repetitive tasks and giving us more time to focus on creativity, relationships and decision-making. Through practical examples from marketing, education, banking and professional services, they explain why the future belongs to people who embrace AI, learn new skills and use technology to become more productive, not less valuable.
