25 Years of Gold - Part 3 - Interview with Stuart Hayes (Gold tour co-choreographer and dancer)
It is both a delight and a privilege to welcome Stuart Hayes as our very special guest on Glitter & Gold, as we continue our celebrations marking the 25th anniversary of Steps’ Gold: Greatest Hits era.
Alongside Paul Domaine, Stuart was co-choreographer on the Gold - Greatest Hits Tour, and he joins us to share his memories of working with Steps on this iconic production. We also look back on his time as one of the group’s key dancers across their arena tours, as well as his involvement in their music videos and live performances. And, of course, we couldn’t let Stuart go without revisiting his own shining moment as “Lisa’s Husband” during Never Get Over You on the Summer 2000 Arena Tour!
Running across November and December 2001, the Gold - Greatest Hits Tour saw Steps perform 31 dates in a Steptacular celebration of the group’s success at the absolute height of their popularity.
Stuart went on to be a key dancer and choreographer for some of pops biggest names in the 2000s including Hear'Say, Dannii Minogue, Diana Ross, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Kylie Minogue, Take That and Boyzone. He is now the Vice Principal of NDC College in Durham, providing a space for the next generation of dancers and creatives.

My Weekly Mixtape
The Forgotten Side of 90s Hip-Hop: 10 Tracks That Should've Been Mainstream Classics
Most people know the biggest hip-hop hits of the 1990s. Songs like "Nuthin' but a 'G' Thang," "Hip Hop Hooray," "C.R.E.A.M.," and countless others became part of the soundtrack of the decade. But what about the overlooked songs, hidden gems, and underrated hip-hop singles that never fully crossed over to the mainstream?
This week, I'm digging into ten oft-forgotten hip-hop tracks from the years when I was listening to rap more than anything else. These aren't obscure records — just songs that never quite crossed over the way they should have.
Whether you were buying CDs in the early '90s, recording these songs off the radio, or you're discovering these tracks for the first time, this episode shines a light on a side of hip-hop history that deserves another listen!
So tune in for a look back at 90s hip hop songs that may not have dominated the Billboard Hot 100, but lived on heavy rotation across NY/NJ radio and shaped how the era actually sounded (at least around here!).
