Can't Stop Worrying? How to Let Go of Fear and Trust God with What You Can't Control

Do you ever find yourself worrying about things you can't control? Your children, your family, your health, your finances, or what might happen tomorrow? You pray, you tell yourself to trust God, but before you know it, your mind is racing through every possible worst case scenario. I get it. I've been there, too. In this episode of Faith Fueled Living, I'm sharing my own struggle with fear, anxious thoughts, and the need to control outcomes, especially when it comes to my children. And more importantly, I'm sharing what has helped me stop allowing worry to steal my peace and joy. We'll explore what Scripture teaches about fear and trusting God, including Isaiah 41:10, Psalm 118:6, and Hebrews 13:6. I'll share practical ways to interrupt anxious thinking, shift your focus back to God's faithfulness, and learn to release the things you were never meant to carry. Because here's something I've had to learn: I can control my outlook and my actions, but I can't control every outcome. And neither can you. That doesn't mean we stop caring, planning, or taking responsibility. It means we learn to do our part while trusting God with what is beyond our control. If you've been struggling with anxiety, overthinking, fear about the future, or the constant pressure to keep everything and everyone okay, this conversation is for you. My hope is that you'll walk away encouraged to replace fear with faith, make room for God's peace, and stop missing the joy of today because you're worried about tomorrow. In this episode, we'll talk about: Why fear, worry, and overthinking can steal our peace and keep us focused on what might go wrong. How to trust God when you're worried about your children, family, or the future. The difference between taking responsibility for your actions and trying to control outcomes. Bible verses about fear and anxiety that remind us of God's presence and faithfulness. Three questions to ask yourself when anxious thoughts begin taking over. How prayer, gratitude, and remembering God's past faithfulness can help shift your mindset. Practical ways to interrupt negative thought patterns, stop ruminating, and experience more peace in everyday life. A reminder for your heart: You don't have to figure everything out today. You don't have to anticipate every problem or carry the weight of every possible outcome. You can take the next faithful step, bring your worries to God, and trust Him with what you cannot see. Mentioned in this episode: Rewire Your Mind: From Negativity to Joy Workbook https://kristinfitch.com/mindset/ If this conversation encouraged you, follow Faith Fueled Living for weekly biblical encouragement, practical faith, and honest conversations about trusting God, renewing your mind, and living with more joy, peace, and purpose. Encouragement and Prayer: Junior and Senior High School Students and Families! (10/30/26)

This is the audio from the October 30, 2026 social media broadcast of encouragement and prayer by Impact Prayer Ministry’s director, Tom Lemler. ~ “Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” Deuteronomy 11:18-19 (NIV) This week our prayer emphasis will focus on praying about the education of our children. Education in math, science, language, and other school subjects are important but not nearly as important as our teaching the things of God to the next generations. Each of them have an important part in preparing young people for the work God has created in advance for them to do. Pray for the delivery methods of that education whether it be through homeschooling, private Christian schools, or public schools. Pray for families as they make wise educational decisions which are best for their situations. Pray that you would do your part in investing in the lives of young people. Pray for a unity of spirit among believers in general and among your church family in particular. “Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.” Colossians 3:20-21 (NIV) As you pray this week, ask God to help you pray for the various levels of education our children receive. Pray that teen and pre-teen students would know the value of obedience. Pray that the families would work together in a manner that values each person. Pray for wisdom in making schooling choices and choices regarding each students future beyond high school. You can find the live video feeds of previous encouragement and prayer times on Impact Prayer Ministry’s Facebook page or subscribe to the audio from the Tom’s Treasure podcast channel. In prayer, Tom
