Corey’s Favorite Shows Of The 21st Century Part 1: Establishing The Contenders!!

You won’t hurt or feelings!* from CoreyWritesForYou.com _________________________________________________________________________________ The New York Times ruffled some feathers this past week and for once it wasn’t because of how they gloss over some of the many horrors coming out of Gaza! (Sorry. My bad. That will be the last political thing I have to say for this series, I promise!) As any “best of” list by a major publication is wont to do, their “Best TV Shows of The 21st Century” list got many people talking and stirred up a bit of controversy regarding how high up certain shows were, how low others were, and then of course their were some glaring omissions in the opinion of many readers! Key word there being “opinion”. We all know that art is subjective, and because of that, I have decided to frame my personal list as “favorite shows” instead of “best shows”. Obviously you’d think that if I considered something my favorite, then I must also consider it the best, but that’s actually not true! For instance, I think that The Godfather is one of the greatest movies of all time, if not THE best, but if they were going head to head, I’d much prefer Tombstone (I can almost see the comments pouring in now 😂) For this first podcast in what I assume will be at bare minimum a 2 part series, I’ve listed all the shows (off the top of my head) that I consider “contenders” for my personal top 10. I list them in no particular order as far as merit goes, it’s just the order in which they popped in my head when I was deciding to do this. That list is as follows: My best shows of 21 century. Extras Derek Afterlife Game of Thrones The Expanse Fleabag Curb Your Enthusiasm The Dorals of Corfu For all mankind Sugar season 1 Severance Ted Lasso Chappell show The Good Place Barry Louie Billions Peaky Blinders Downton Abbey The Crown Justified Doctor Who Arrested development Fargo The Office Parks and Rec Eastbound and Down Homeland Black Mirror Reacher Dexter Deadwood Rectify Derry Girls House Of Cards Bojack Horseman Castlvania The Boys Daredevil Rick and Morty Plurubis The Queens Gambit I think you should leave ANDOR Loudermilk The Pitt Catastrophe The Great British Baking Show I have no doubt left off a lot that are worthy of being on this list, and in my manic state have no doubt added some that do not even warrant being considered, but hey, that’s the fun of it!
