Samuel Aaron Moyn is an American historian and legal scholar serving as Kent Professor of Law and History at Yale University, where he also heads Grace Hopper College. Known for revisionist interpretations of human rights history, Moyn has authored works such as The Last Utopia, Not Enough, Humane, and Liberalism Against Itself. His scholarship explores modern European intellectual history, critiques Cold War liberalism, and examines U.S. foreign policy. His most recent 2026 book Gerontocracy in America addresses intergenerational power imbalances.
