The Thirst Time - Kem Eggers- Eggers Hops

On this week's episode, we sit down with Kem Eggers, owner of Eggers Hops in New Zealand’s famed Moutere Valley. We’re huge fans of what Kem and the team do, their Riwaka features heavily in our beers, and this week we’ve got two releases showcasing their hops, including the next entry in our Cultivate series. It was fantastic learning the story behind Eggers, who have been growing for over 150 years. Enjoy! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

The Thirst Time - Ben Stubbs - Rivington Brewing Co

This week we sit down with Ben Stubbs, co-founder of Rivington Brewing Co. Having launched around the same time as us, we dipped into the nostalgia bag to chat about the Manchester beer scene. We also dive into how a US trip inspired it all, and how they grew from a humble homebrew setup into one of the most spectacular taprooms and breweries in the UK. Enjoy! Hosted on Acast. The Thirst Time - John Penno - Bold River Hops

On this week's episode of The Thirst Time, we sat down with John Penno, owner and co-founder of Bold River Hops. This episode is part of a series of interviews with hop growers, running alongside our Cultivate beer series, where we celebrate the stories and hard work happening further up the supply chain. John has an incredibly interesting story: how hops became the answer to a question, could some of New Zealand's famous hop varieties grow this far south? We know the answer now, having just used their amazing Nectaron in one of our beers, but the story and science behind it are fascinating. Enjoy! Hosted on Acast. The Thirst Time - Jade McManus & Karen Taylor - Ryefield Hops

On this episode, we speak to Jade McManus and Karen Taylor of Ryefield Hops, a first-generation hop farm based in Bemboka, New South Wales, Australia. This was a truly inspiring conversation about the hardships, challenges and breakthroughs of building a regenerative hop farm from scratch. Want to try the hops for yourself? We're releasing three beers, each showcasing a different Ryefield varietal, live now on our webshop. Enjoy! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

The Thirst Time - Jeremy Grinkey - Everywhere Beer Co

This week on the podcast, we have Jeremy Grinkey of Everywhere Beer Co. The word "legend" gets thrown around a lot, but it sits perfectly with Jeremy. After taking the lead at The Bruery's world-renowned barrel-aging program (The Bruery Terreux), he and a few of his associates left to set up Everywhere Beer Co. His love of wine, people, and beer shines through, and it was an absolute joy to sit down with him and hear more about his journey. Enjoy! Hosted on Acast. The Thirst Time - Ryan Nosek - Ghost Town Brewing

If you love West Coast IPA, this one's for you. We were lucky enough to have Ryan and Noah from Ghost Town Brewing stop by on their way to MBCC and naturally, we had to brew a West Coast IPA together. Their beers blew us away, and their passion for what they do is something else. Getting to learn from them was a real privilege, and only deepened our love and reverence for the style. Enjoy! The Thirst Time - Davy Martin - Orchestrated Minds Brewing

A couple of weeks back we had the pleasure of welcoming Davy from Orchestrated Minds to the brewery to brew a beer with us. Davy, is a man who leaves an impression. His drive and enthusiasm for what he does is infectious and brings with it a kind of energy and positivity that makes you feel like you could run through a brick wall! Maybe that's how you'll feel after listening to this one too... Enjoy! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

The Thirst Time - James Rylance - Ideal Day Family Brewery

Three and a half years ago, we sat down with James as he was embarking on his new brewing project, Ideal Day. James was never interested in just brewing for brewing's sake; he wanted to make a difference and use the knowledge he'd accumulated through years of working in the brewery industry to create something with purpose and to do it with the people he loved the most, his family. We thought it was about time we caught back up with him, to see how it has all been going. Enjoy! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

The Thirst Time - Reece Hugill - Donzoko Brewing Company

A long overdue discussion with our friend Reece Hugill, owner & founder of Donzoko Brewing Company. You won't be surprised to know we talked a lot about Lager in this one, you might be surprised to hear us talk about homemade pineapple wine and how it all began in a PE changing room... Enjoy! The Thirst Time - IWD Special - Charlotte & Izzy - Queer Brewing

Welcome to our Thirst Time IWD Specials, hosted by our Lead Brewer, Caitlín McErlean. This year, we opened up the brewery for three 'Brewery Experience' days for women and people who identify as non-binary. We did things a little differently this year, collaborating with three different breweries: Miluna, Queer Brewing, and Kerroo Brewing. To give each brew a bit more depth, Caitlín took the reins and interviewed each brewery, learning more about them and their journeys in craft beer. Enjoy! Hosted on Acast. The Thirst Time - Todd DiMatteo - Good Word Brewing

It was great to have Todd from Good Word Brewing join us to brew a beer. Whilst we had him here, it felt a shame not to sit down and hear his story. Good Word is a brewery based in Atlanta, Georgia, not an area of the world you'd think cask beer could thrive, but Todd and his team are making it happen. Enjoy! Hosted on Acast. The Thirst Time - Bruce Gray - LHG

It's been a minute since I sat down with Bruce. We try to do a yearly check-in, but last year seemed to just disappear into the ether. So this year... a couple of months late, we got to it. We covered a lot of ground in this one: what failure looks like, BrewDog, and of course, the general state of the industry. Enjoy! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

    S5 - E4 - The Thirst Time - Luca Lorenzoni

This weeks guest is Luca Lorenzoni. Luca has had a really interesting career path, starting out with Ab inBev (the big guys) before becoming managing director at Camden then CEO of Northern Monk. For me, it’s Such a fascinating trajectory because Luca learned/got all of the tools from a big corporate entity before moving into a more independent & craft beer market. He wrote four really interesting (and I encourage you to read) articles that talk about the essence of what it is to be a ‘craft brewery’ and how to find a path forward. Heavy Emphasis on the Path bit there as that’s then name of Lucas new consultancy, where he helps smaller starter brands move towards there goals I loved this conversation, and hopefully there’s a lot for you guys to take away from it it Enjoy!
