On the outside, everything looks pretty fine, but on the inside, you’re worried. Does this sound familiar? Welcome to grey area drinking. It’s a term that didn't even exist until a few years ago, but for many of us, it sums up our experience with alcohol perfectly. Let’s talk about what grey area drinking really means – and what actually helps... Stay in touch: Follow me on Instagram All my YouTube videos are here Want to work with me? A Boring (But Effective!) Tip To Help You Stay On Track

Do you ever promise yourself you’re not going to drink – but then something happens to throw a spanner in the works? Maybe you have a terrible day at work and crave a G&T just to decompress afterwards. Or you’re out with friends and everyone else is ordering wine, so you say yes too. Or you get home to find your partner has already poured a glass for you and resisting seems futile… I’ve got a great tip to help you get round all these situations, but I nearly didn’t share it with you in case you think it’s boring! 3 Questions I Have For Brad Pitt (And One For You)

You’ve probably seen the headlines over the past week. Brad Pitt is drinking again, after seven years sober. And this time, he says he’s doing it “moderately”. Cue a whole wave of reactions, with some people cheering him on… and others feeling worried, unsettled and even triggered by the whole thing. I spent a few days going through everything he said about his sobriety in the past (he used to be pretty effusive about it) vs what he’s saying now… The result is this podcast episode. In it, I’ve got 3 questions for Brad Pitt - and an important one for you too! Stay in touch: Follow me on Instagram All my YouTube videos are here Want to work with me? In fact, there are some really annoying things that can happen when you stop. So I thought I’d talk about how I’ve handled this stuff, in case it happens to you too... If You’re Going To Worry About Anything, Worry About This.

If a lecture in the dangers of drinking was all it took to motivate someone to quit, you wouldn’t even be listening to this! And personally, I much prefer talking about the benefits of alcohol-free living, because it’s such a lifestyle upgrade after all. But the other day I had a conversation with one of my clients that I haven’t been able to stop thinking about... and that's what I'm talking about in this episode. Alcohol Is Stealing Genuine Joy From Your Life

It’s so sneaky, the way it happens. You start thinking about opening a bottle of wine (or perhaps you’re already staring into an empty glass, wondering whether to have another...) You’re distracted… so you don’t notice that a robbery is taking place. Alcohol is quietly stealing genuine joy from you… but you might not even realise you’ve been robbed until much later on, because initially everything seems fine. But alcohol is a wolf in sheep's clothing, as I explain in this week's video. Stay in touch: Follow me on Instagram All my YouTube videos are here Want to work with me? You’re Not Missing Out: Sober Holiday Myths

At this time of year, I often hear from people who are worried they’re going to miss out if they stay sober on holiday. They can’t imagine skipping cocktails by the pool or saying no to wine with their evening meal. When you’re feeling this way, it’s so easy to talk yourself into giving up on your sober goals (or sticking them on the back burner for a while). I want to help you reframe the fear of missing out and see things in a different light. That's what this episode is all about. My Name’s Kate And I’m Not An Alcoholic

In my drinking days, I must have googled “Am I an alcoholic?” so many times. I didn’t think I actually was an alcoholic, but my drinking certainly didn’t feel “normal”. I was stuck, not finding anything that described me or what to do next. Fast forward to today and an awful lot has changed. Not only am I happily sober, but my thoughts on the whole “alcoholic” label are a lot clearer. I wanted to share them here, in case you’re feeling as confused as I was.
