SaaS Dads S3 - E5: He Lost His Job With a Baby to Support, Then Everything Changed

What do you do when the income you were relying on suddenly disappears? In this episode of SaaS Dads, Gary sits down with Jonah Cockshaw from myGHLcoach. On July 2nd, 2025, Jonah learned that his role at Extendly was no longer needed as part of a company restructuring. The timing couldn’t have been much more difficult. Jonah and his now-wife had recently finished renovating their home, paid the deposit for their wedding, had a one-year-old son, and had decided that his income would support the family while his wife stayed home with their child. Then that income disappeared. Jonah shares exactly what happened next. Rather than immediately jumping into another full-time job, he gave himself a short window to see if he could generate enough income to cover the family’s bills. His first move wasn’t building an offer, choosing an ICP or creating the perfect agency. He reached out to people and companies in the HighLevel ecosystem and offered to help however he could. That meant taking flexible contracting work for between $20 and $40 an hour and working as many paid hours as possible. For several months, that meant 10, 12 and sometimes 14-hour days. But at the same time, Jonah was also: 👉 Answering questions inside HighLevel communities 👉 Commenting on posts 👉 Recording helpful videos 👉 Jumping onto Zoom calls to help people 👉 Building visibility around his HighLevel knowledge 👉 Growing HighLevel affiliate income When his affiliate dashboard reached around $900, Jonah realized that money effectively bought back roughly 45 hours of his own time the following month. That became an important turning point. He started saying no to some lower-paid contracting work and investing that time into building his own community, creating resources and running daily group coaching calls. The first daily call happened on November 6th, 2025 — and Jonah says they’ve continued running calls Monday through Friday since then. In this conversation, Gary and Jonah discuss: 👉 Losing his job while supporting a young family 👉 Nearly having to cancel his wedding 👉 Working 10–14 hour days to keep the bills paid 👉 The pressure that put on family life 👉 How he transitioned away from hourly contracting 👉 Using HighLevel affiliate income to buy back his own time 👉 Building a private community that was approaching 600 members at the time of recording 👉 Why he chose to put himself out there constantly instead of waiting for people to discover him 👉 Why Jonah doesn’t use AI to create his personal social media content 👉 The importance of authentic, human content 👉 Building daily coaching calls into his business 👉 Growing a team of seven, including Jonah 👉 Removing himself from much of the day-to-day client fulfillment 👉 How the business reached around $20K–$25K per month for the few months leading up to the interview 👉 Why approximately $5K of that was coming from HighLevel affiliate income 👉 Getting more time back with his wife and son 👉 His advice for anyone trying to establish themselves in a competitive market One of Jonah’s biggest lessons from the journey: “You first need to know your thing, but then other people need to know that you know the thing.” Knowing your craft isn’t enough if nobody knows who you are. You still have to put yourself out there. SaaS Dads Season 3, Episode 4: Stop Selling SaaS Like Everyone Else | Adam McInnes on GHL Mastery

In this episode of SaaS Dads, Gary sits down with Adam McInnes from GHL Mastery. Adam has been using HighLevel for years and explains that GHL Mastery grew out of the kind of program he wishes had existed when he first started learning the platform. But this conversation isn’t only about HighLevel. Adam talks openly about building his business while raising two young children, losing his job during COVID, working late into the night, going to counselling, and eventually realising that the business he was building for his family could not come at the expense of his family. Today, Adam says he doesn’t work weekends, usually finishes work around 3:00–3:30, and deliberately separates his office from his home life. Gary and Adam discuss: 👉 Starting a business while raising two young children 👉 Losing his job during COVID and deciding to build the business full time 👉 Working until 2:00–4:00 in the morning during the early stages 👉 Why Adam went to counselling while trying to balance business and fatherhood 👉 The conversation with his wife that made him rethink how he was working 👉 Why he stopped working weekends 👉 Building a team so he could remove himself from parts of the business 👉 How GHL Mastery developed 👉 The estimator tools that originally connected Gary and Adam 👉 Why Adam moved away from relying purely on the $297/month SaaS model 👉 Turning HighLevel solutions into higher-ticket consulting offers 👉 Why Adam focuses on quantifying the customer’s problem 👉 Asking businesses about leads, appointments, conversion rates and average customer value 👉 Why showing the financial size of a problem changes a sales conversation 👉 Adam’s AOF — Automated Operations Framework 👉 Using a paid roadmap as part of qualifying potential clients 👉 Why Adam says you have to stop caring whether somebody buys 👉 Why more conversations matter when selling 👉 The danger of endlessly building without speaking to potential customers 👉 Why Adam recommends talking to people in a niche before building the solution 👉 His advice to SaaS dads and mums going through the difficult early stages of business One of Adam’s biggest lessons from the conversation: The grind may be part of building the business. But don’t sacrifice your family for it. And if you need help whether that’s business help or mental health support go and get help. 🎥 Watch the full SaaS Dads conversation with Gary Capps and Adam McInnes. 👉 This is where it starts. SaaS Dads Season 3, Episode 3: He Died Twice, Then Rebuilt His Life & Business | SaaS Dads with Dakota Routh

SaaS Dads is back with Dakota Routh, 4X SaaSPRENEUR Award Winner, the man behind Agency Support for HighLevel, and CEO of White Label Suite. But this episode starts somewhere very different from SaaS. In 2015, Dakota experienced a serious medical emergency after years of stomach problems. His gallbladder had ruptured, he later developed sepsis, and during the ordeal his heart stopped twice. His wife and children were there for part of that experience, and Dakota shares what it was like waking up after a medically induced coma and eventually realizing what his family had been through. That experience changed the way he looked at his life, his family and his businesses. Dakota and Gary talk about: 👉 Dying twice and waking up after five days in a medically induced coma 👉 The impact the experience had on his wife and children 👉 Going through depression and rebuilding his strength after leaving hospital 👉 Why family now comes first in the decisions Dakota makes 👉 Choosing experiences with his family over possessions 👉 Building businesses that give him the freedom to spend more time with them 👉 Bootstrapping his businesses rather than relying on outside funding 👉 How Agency Support for HighLevel started with Dakota, his wife and two VAs 👉 Building a team that eventually allowed him to step away from the day-to-day 👉 Why Dakota believes people need to treat a HighLevel business like a real business 👉 The three challenges he regularly sees people face when trying to build with HighLevel 👉 Why trying to do sales, marketing, operations and technical work yourself can hold you back 👉 Why Dakota says you should know whether something can be done not necessarily how to build it yourself 👉 Managing ongoing kidney disease after losing one kidney 👉 The importance of health, exercise and taking care of yourself while building a business 👉 Finding something bigger than yourself that keeps you moving when things get difficult Dakota’s message toward the end of the conversation is simple: Things are going to get difficult. The question is whether you have something important enough to keep you moving forward when they do. SaaS Dads Season 3 Episode 2: From Failed Agency to HighLevel’s Rocket Ship with Chase Buckner

Gary introduces Chase as one of HighLevel’s most senior people, and for good reason, Chase has been with HighLevel for almost seven years and has held multiple roles across customer success, content and education, sales and marketing, and product marketing. In this episode, Gary and Chase go back through that journey. Chase talks about starting out as a high school English teacher, moving into digital marketing, building an agency that ultimately failed, finding the right business partner, growing a seven-figure agency, and then discovering HighLevel at a time when the company was still in its early days. He also shares the family side of that journey. Chase is a dad of three boys, and he talks about what he learned from becoming a father, how his experience as a teacher influenced the way he parents, and how family life developed alongside the growth of his career. Gary and Chase discuss: 👉 Being a dad of three boys 👉 What Chase learned from teaching and how it carried into parenting 👉 His first agency failing around the time his first son was born 👉 Finding the right business partner 👉 The relationship between salespeople and operators 👉 Growing a seven-figure agency 👉 Why operators need to recognise when sales is not their strength 👉 The event that eventually led Chase to discover HighLevel 👉 Joining HighLevel during its early days 👉 The different leadership roles Chase has held inside HighLevel 👉 Watching HighLevel grow from a small startup to more than 2,000 employees 👉 The “skateboard” approach to product development 👉 Why HighLevel focuses on getting products into the hands of users quickly and learning from feedback 👉 Leadership, humility and dealing with criticism 👉 How AI is changing HighLevel 👉 Ask AI, managed agents and where Chase sees the next era of HighLevel developing 👉 Why AI is moving too quickly to predict too far ahead 👉 What Chase says people can expect to hear more about at Level Up Chase also explains how being around the right people, attending events and meeting other agency owners played a major role in the path that eventually brought him into HighLevel. This is a conversation with someone who has seen HighLevel from its early startup days through to where it is now, while also building a family and navigating multiple stages of business along the way. 🎙️ Featuring Gary Capps and Chase Buckner 👉 This is where it starts. SaaS Dads S2/E16: She Toured the World in a Flying Car… Now She's Teaching the World How to Use AI

Most people pick a lane. Molly Mahoney picked several and somehow made them all work. Professional musical theater performer. National tour of Chitty Bang Bang. Knitting and crocheting business. Camera confidence coach. Messenger bot expert. AI educator. Broadway producer. Oh, and mum to two boys aged 12 and 14 who between them have sold $1 drawings on Facebook Live, presented at business events in their backyard, and done a live stream with a SamCart co-founder to build a sales page at age 11. This is one of those conversations that goes everywhere and somehow ties together perfectly at the end. In this episode Molly gets beautifully honest about: 👉 Touring the world in a flying car and how that led to everything that came after 👉 Starting a business while baby-wearing and teaching dance classes with a baby on her back 👉 Her 12-year-old son who is basically an 80-year-old man in a child's body who hates AI 👉 Why she didn't let her kids play Fortnite and what they found instead 👉 The affiliate competition she nearly won and the Tesla she lost because of what she kept saying out loud 👉 Her son asking to come on a business trip to Gay Hendricks' house and why she said yes 👉 The sparkly boulder moment when everything in her business fell apart at once 👉 Losing her mum, tearing the cartilage in her wrist and her dog dying on her husband's birthday all at the same time 👉 How she got from Broadway opening night to a Tony Robbins stage in less than 12 hours 👉 Why frameworks equal freedom and what that means for SaaS mums everywhere 👉 The tickle points that most people completely miss when building their brand 👉 Why the humans behind the brand matter more than ever in an AI world This one is warm, funny, sparkly and genuinely moving all at the same time. Molly is proof that the weirdest path forward is usually the right one. And that staying calm through the chaos is the actual superpower that makes everything else possible. 🙏 🎧 You need this one today. 👉 This is where it starts. SaaS Dads S2/E15: The SaaS Opportunity Nobody Is Talking About Right Now

Two SaaS dads walk into a conversation about AI, kids, school, personal brand and the future. Neither of them has any answers. And somehow that's the most valuable episode we've done all season. Danny Clarke is back for Season 2. Fresh from Costa Rica where they were both speaking at an event. Three kids aged 14, 12 and 10. A business he's built around finishing work at 2PM so he never misses a moment with his son on the football pitch. And a head full of questions about what the hell any of us are supposed to tell our kids about their future. Because here's the thing nobody's saying out loud. We don't know what jobs will exist. We don't know what skills will matter. We don't know if school is preparing them for anything useful. And we don't know what the world looks like in five years let alone when these kids are grown up and trying to figure out their lives. But we do know one thing. The creators win. The consumers lose. And right now there's never been a bigger gap between the people using AI and the people who have no idea what's even possible. In this episode Gary and Danny get completely honest about: 👉 Why Danny cut his workday to finish at 2PM and what that cost him and gave him 👉 The moment they both realised their kids are becoming independent faster than expected 👉 What the hell do you tell your kids to do when you can't even predict your own industry 👉 Why Danny's 14-year-old daughter is already questioning the point of school 👉 The shift from using AI to working with AI and why it's actually creating more work right now 👉 Why personal brand is more important than ever and what that really means 👉 The Tom the Sparky theory and the massive opportunity nobody is talking about 👉 Why imperfect action beats perfect knowledge every single time 👉 The 250 testimonials story that perfectly explains how goodwill actually works 👉 A frozen dragon in Antarctica and why Gary's wife goes down too many rabbit holes 😂 This one is raw, real and genuinely funny in parts. Two dads. Two businesses. Zero certainty about the future. Loads of honest conversation about what it all means. 🙏 🎧 This is the conversation you didn't know you needed today. 👉 This is where it starts. SaaS Dads S2/E14: He Quit Amazon to Build With His Wife… Now They're Raising Two Kids and Multiple SaaS Products

Most people dream about quitting their corporate job. Kunal actually did it. Senior software engineer at Amazon. Stable salary. Everything covered every month, and he walked away to build something with his wife Ruheene that most people told him was a risk not worth taking. His dad was the only one who said go, and now they're building Brandpod together, multiple SaaS products, a team, clients, and two kids aged eight and eleven who are already getting involved in the business in their own ways. But here's what made this conversation different, it wasn't really about the business at all, it was about what it actually looks like to build something alongside the person you love, raise kids in a country far from your family, figure out screen time and Roblox and AI and what the future even looks like for children growing up right now. Raw, honest and surprisingly funny. 😅 In this episode Kunal gets refreshingly real about: 👉 Quitting Amazon to build full time with his wife and what his dad said that surprised everyone 👉 Growing up in India, moving to Australia then the US and meeting Raheen on a dating website 👉 Getting married twice in two months because her mum was given three months to live 👉 What it's really like running multiple businesses with your life partner every single day 👉 His daughter pulling people into their booth at the HighLevel Dallas summit from age eight 👉 His son becoming their unofficial in house software tester for Brand Pod 👉 The Roblox warning every parent needs to hear right now 👉 Why he thinks critical thinking and resilience are the only skills that will matter for kids in an AI world 👉 The one thing he and Raheen do every Wednesday that keeps everything in balance 👉 His honest advice for any SaaS dad working alongside their partner This one is warm, grounded and full of the kind of real talk you don't always hear from people building businesses in this space. 🙏 🎧 This one's for the dads and mums building something together. 👉 This is where it starts. SaaS Dads S2/E13: FBI Raided His House, $10M NFL Lawsuit… He Built a Two-Time Gold SaaS Business Anyway

Most people have one rock bottom moment. Russ Ward had several. Got his girlfriend pregnant on the first date. Flew to Las Vegas and got married weeks later. Got kicked out of three colleges. Joined the Navy at 21 just to force himself into a job he couldn't quit. Then built a bootleg DVD empire from his basement that made him $2-3 million over 10 years. Then the FBI raided his house. The NFL sued him for $10 million. The IRS hit him with a $119,000 tax lien. His merchant accounts froze. His marriage fell apart. His kids went to live with their mum. And he spent a week lying on the floor with a gun to his head. He got up. And now he's a two-time consecutive Gold SaaSpreneur. Standing on stage in a gold sparkly jacket collecting awards he spent six years working toward. This is one of the most honest conversations we've ever had on SaaS Dads. In this episode Russ gets completely raw about: 👉 Getting his girlfriend pregnant on the first date and flying to Las Vegas to get married 👉 Running nuclear reactors in the Navy until they found out he was colour blind 👉 Building a $2-3 million bootleg DVD empire from his basement while in the military 👉 The FBI raid, the $10 million NFL lawsuit and the IRS tax lien that froze everything 👉 Spending a week on the floor with a gun to his head and what pulled him back 👉 Writing letters to his kids apologising for being a bad dad and how that rebuilt everything 👉 Using a Cameo shout-out from Xzibit to break the ice with his estranged son 👉 How he went from bankrupt and unemployable to two-time Gold SaaSpreneur 👉 His 14-year-old daughter building an AI music business at farmers markets 👉 Why it took him six years to get his first Gold award and what he'd tell anyone still grinding 👉 The one piece of advice he gives to anyone hitting rock bottom right now This one is unlike anything we've shared before. Russ didn't just hit rock bottom. He built his rock bottom himself, brick by brick, bad decision by bad decision. And then he climbed out of it anyway. If you're in a tough spot right now, this episode is for you. 🙏 🎧 Watch this one. Then watch it again. 👉 This is where it starts. SaaS Dads S2/E12: He's Leaving Australia After 16 Years… To Give His Son Something Money Can't Buy

Most people build a business to afford a better life. Vit built one so he could actually live it. 16 years in Australia. Australian citizen. Thriving SaaS agency. The HighLevel Experience podcast. A life that most people in the HighLevel community would look at and go… that's it. That's the dream. And he's walking away from all of it. Not because things went wrong. Because something more important finally got loud enough to listen to, family. His parents. His wife's parents. His five year old son who's never really known what it feels like to grow up surrounded by people who love him unconditionally. The grandparents who are getting older. The date nights that never happen because there's nobody to watch the kid. So Vit made a decision. Pack up the house. Sell the stuff. Tell the son after Easter. And move back to Czech Republic in six weeks. And here's the part that makes this story different from most. the business is coming with him. In this episode Vit gets refreshingly honest about: 👉 Why he's leaving Australia after 16 years and what finally made the decision easy 👉 How he tested running his business remotely by moving to Czech Republic for two and a half years 👉 Why the stuff you accumulate means absolutely nothing when it comes to the crunch 👉 The time zone strategy he's built to keep Australian clients and crack the US market from Europe 👉 Why he's never run a single ad in five years and built his entire agency on referral partnerships 👉 His honest take on HighLevel for beginners and why most people should go through an agency first 👉 The HighLevel Experience podcast origin story and why it started with beers in Dallas 👉 Three free tools every HighLevel agency owner should grab right now 👉 The vomit in the car story that every parent will relate to way too much 👉 Why being detail obsessed is both his superpower and his biggest weakness as a dad This one is a little different from our usual episodes. It's not a rags to riches story. It's not a comeback from rock bottom. It's something rarer than that. It's a guy who built something great and then had the courage to ask himself what matters more, and chose family. 🙏 🎧 This one will make you think about your own priorities. 👉 This is where it starts. SaaS Dads S2/E11: She Nearly Had a Heart Attack… Then Built a Diamond SaaS Business in 12 Months

In 2024 Jay-cee Tan nearly died. Not dramatically. Not suddenly. Just quietly burning out trying to hold everything together while her VA business was falling apart around her. 100 VAs. Down to 50. Down to 20. Then gone. Her doctor looked her in the eye and said if you don't stop you will drop dead. She had two little girls at home. A husband who believed in her. And absolutely nothing left in the tank. Most people would've stopped. Jay-cee got back up. She opened her laptop, started teaching Filipinos automation for free just to keep herself busy, and woke up the next morning to 4,000 people in her community. Twelve months later she was on stage at a HighLevel event collecting her Diamond SaaSpreneur award. In this episode Jay-cee gets beautifully honest about: 👉 1,800 applications over six months just to land her very first client as a VA 👉 Growing a real estate VA agency to 100 people in under a year then watching it fall apart 👉 Nearly having a heart attack and what her doctor told her that changed everything 👉 Building a Diamond SaaS business in 12 months while raising two girls aged four and six 👉 How she pulled 1,600 people to an event in the Philippines with government ministers in the room 👉 From mopping floors to mapping workflows — the janitor she trained who became an automation specialist 👉 Why she says being a mom didn't slow her down it made her better at business 👉 The mission to show the world that Filipinos are not just Filipino lang 👉 What she would whisper to herself during the darkest moment of her journey This one is something special. Jay-cee isn't just building a business. She's changing how an entire country sees itself on the global stage. SaaS Dads S2/E10: He Built a $100M Business… Then Lost It All to a Bad Partnership

Most people build a business to make money. Leon built one to never be trapped again. 12 and a half years in the military working on F-18 fighter jets and explosive ordnance. Then 17 years growing a paintball business to nearly $100 million in revenue across 57 locations worldwide. Then COVID hit. A business partnership fell apart. And a payout he was owed never came. Everything he'd built with people he considered brothers.. gone. Most people would've taken a job. Played it safe. Licked their wounds and moved on quietly. Leon did something different. He took every system, every lesson, every scar and started helping other business owners avoid the same pain. And somewhere along the way, he realised that everything he'd learned about building businesses was exactly the same as raising kids. In this episode Leon gets deeply honest about: 👉 Growing a paintball business to nearly $100M across 57 locations worldwide 👉 How working with bombs and bullets at 19 years old taught him everything about systems 👉 Losing his mum at eight years old and how that shaped the man and father he became 👉 Getting screwed out of a major payout by people he trusted like brothers 👉 The five lessons from parenting that completely transformed how he runs his business 👉 Why being the sage not the hero is the most powerful thing you can do for your kids and your clients 👉 How he engineers his entire business around his life and not the other way around 👉 Why presence is greater than productivity in business and at home 👉 The social media catfishing story that every parent with a teenager needs to hear 👉 What he'd tell 19-year-old Leon starting out in the military This one is different. SaaS Dads S2/E09: He Got Scammed, Hit by COVID & Built a VA Business From an RV… With Two Kids Inside

Most people wouldn't start a business in a 26-foot RV. Joel did. Two young kids. A homeschooling wife. A dinette table for a desk. And a brand new VA business launching in the middle of it all. But here's the thing nobody talks about when they romanticize the laptop lifestyle. It's not always a beach or a cafe. Sometimes it's your wife hiding in the bedroom six feet away so she doesn't interrupt your Zoom call. Sometimes it's your kids tugging on your shoulder mid-pitch. Sometimes it's getting scammed by a VA company, paying twice, and still doing the right thing anyway. That's how VA Hub Pro was born. Not from a business plan. Not from a big launch. From getting burned enough times to say "we can do this better" and actually doing it. In this episode Joel gets refreshingly honest about: 👉 How getting scammed by a VA company became the spark that started VA Hub Pro 👉 What it's really like running a business from a 26-foot RV with two homeschooled kids 👉 Why he and his wife chose to fight in front of their kids and make up in front of them too 👉 The unschooling approach that has his kids blowing him away with how smart they are 👉 Why he believes impact is a bigger driving force than revenue 👉 The book that made him feel like someone was writing about his exact business 👉 What he'd tell the Joel who walked away from his job in 2019 full of hope This one goes deep. Not just on business but on parenting, leadership, emotional regulation and what it actually means to build something that matters. Joel is proof that integrity in business isn't just a nice thing to have. It's your actual competitive advantage. 🎧 This conversation will stay with you. ⏱ Timestamps 03:30 – How VA Hub Pro Was Born From Getting Scammed 08:15 – Living and Working in a 26-Foot RV With Two Young Kids 13:40 – Homeschooling on the Road: The Unschooling Approach 19:20 – Stop Motion Animation, Foxes and Raising Creative Kids 24:45 – Screen Time, YouTube and Teaching Kids to Create Not Consume 30:10 – Self Regulation: What Parents and Kids Are Learning Together 35:50 – Apologizing to Your Kids and Why It Changes Everything 40:20 – Fighting In Front of Your Kids and Making Up In Front of Them Too 45:00 – How Parenting Made Him a Better Business Leader 49:30 – The Ripple Effect: Why Impact Beats Revenue Every Time 54:15 – Traction by Gino Wickman and What It Changed for the Business 58:40 – What's Next for VA Hub Pro and the Family 01:02:00 – What He'd Tell Himself When He Left His Job in 2019 👉 This is where it starts. SaaS Dads S2/E08: He Worked 20 Hours a Day for 6 Months… Now He Works 10 Hours a Week From Europe

Most people want the laptop lifestyle. Balint actually built it. Right now he's traveling across Europe with his wife and two and a half year old daughter. Vienna one week. Budapest the next. Working 4 hours a night while his family sleeps. Making $30K a month. With one VA. In 10 hours a week. But here's what nobody talks about. To get there he locked himself in a room for six months. Working 20 hours a day. His wife handled everything, the baby, the house, the nights, all of it. He missed the first six months of his daughter's life. Not the normal dad miss. Not the "I got home late for dinner" miss. He missed everything, first smiles, first sounds, everything, seen through photos and videos while sitting at a desk three feet away. And that was the moment he decided he'd never let it happen again. In this episode Balint gets brutally honest about: 👉 How he went from zero to $30K a month in under two years with just a phone and a laptop 👉 Why he stopped doing follow ups completely and started closing more deals 👉 The no Zoom, no appointment, no nurture sequence sales method that most people think is crazy 👉 What it's really like becoming a grandfather at 39 while your wife is pregnant at the same time 👉 Why he walked away from scaling at $30K to spend two years traveling Europe with his daughter 👉 The brutal six months that built everything and nearly cost him his relationship 👉 Why he says zero to ten grand is hell and everything after that is just momentum This one is for anyone who is grinding right now and wondering if it's worth it. Balint has been on both sides. The grind that costs you everything. And the freedom that makes it all make sense. And the crazy part? He built it all from cold calls. No ads. No funnels. No fancy systems. Just a phone. 🎧 This one will change how you think about sales, time and what success actually looks like. 👉 This is where it starts. SaaS Dads S2/E07: She Landed in Australia With $45, Two Kids & No Plan… Then Built a SaaS Business Nobody Saw Coming

Imagine leaving everything you know. Your career. Your family. Your comfort. Priya packed up her life, with her husband and two little boys, and landed in Australia with $45 in her pocket and a one way ticket. No safety net. No family around. No plan B. She had a PhD. Three degrees. Nine years as a university lecturer back in India. And her first job in Australia was at a betting call center getting sworn at by Aussie punters all day. 😅 Most people would've gone back home. Priya kept going. Six years later she had a six figure salary, a stable university job, a mortgage, and a life most immigrants dream about. And she walked away from all of it. Because her parents got COVID during lockdown, she couldn't travel, and she realized in that moment that no salary in the world was worth missing the people she loved most. So she started over. Again. And this time she built something that couldn't be taken away from her. In this episode Priya gets refreshingly real about: 👉 Landing in Australia with $45 and building a six figure career from scratch 👉 Why she quit a comfortable university job when her business was making just $18K a year 👉 The webinar she launched where zero people showed up… and what her kids said that kept her going 👉 How she built a training model helping Indian women work from home that completely changed her business 👉 Why she says your gender has nothing to do with what you can achieve 👉 The moment she realized she was the biggest bottleneck in her own business 👉 What it's really like building a team across multiple time zones while raising two boys alone in a country far from home This one is different. Priya isn't your typical SaaS story. She's an immigrant, a mum, a PhD, a speaker, a community leader and someone who has rebuilt her life from scratch more times than most people would ever dare. And she did it all while her kids cheered her on from the sidelines. 🙏 If you've ever felt like an outsider trying to build something in a world that wasn't designed for you, this episode will hit home. 🎧 Don't skip this one. 👉 This is where it starts. SaaS Dads S2/E-06 : His Gym Closed in COVID, Wife Pregnant, $20K Due in 30 Days… Then He Built a SaaS Empire Nobody Knew About

Most people talk about pressure breaking them. Jackson Chen let it build him. COVID hit. His gym shut down overnight. Income gone. A baby on the way, three teenagers in private school in Sydney, a landlord demanding $20,000 in 30 days, and a wife who was pregnant and needed him present while he was quietly drowning. Most guys would've collapsed, or taken a job or both. Jackson did something different. He opened his laptop, figured out HighLevel from scratch, didn't even know what a webhook was and started hustling to replace every dollar the gym had taken with it. That was five years ago. Today? He's running multiple businesses, hundreds of clients, growing 10 new accounts a week, and still doing school drop-offs every morning. And almost nobody in the HighLevel community knows who he is. That's the part that got us. In this episode Jackson gets brutally real about: 👉 How he raised $20K in 30 days with a brand new business and a baby on the way 👉 Why he and his wife agreed on a number and stopped chasing beyond it 👉 The car he bought with cash after years of never touching debt for depreciating assets 👉 Why the business you're building right now probably won't exist in 10 years and what to do about it 👉 How he cut client onboarding from 2 hours down to 10 minutes through automation 👉 What it's like parenting a 5-year-old and a 19-year-old at the same time and why he's a completely different dad now 👉 Why he studied theology, volunteered as a pastor, and still leads his whole life around one question: who can I help today? This one hits different if you're the kind of dad who's quietly building something big while everyone else is busy being loud about it. Jackson is proof you don't need to be the most visible person in the room to be the most dangerous one in it. 🎧 Watch this one twice. The second time, take notes. 👉 This is where it starts. SaaS Dads S2/E - 05 : He Lost It All in COVID… Then Built a SaaS System That Changed Everything

Imagine spending 23 years building something and watching it disappear in months. That's exactly what happened to Kalvin Morris. A multi million pound recruitment business. Gone. Savings draining. Three daughters looking at you like you've got the answers… and you're not sure you do. Most people would've taken a job. Play it safe. Nobody would've blamed him. But here's the thing about being a dad, "safe" doesn't exist anymore once you've tasted building something of your own. You can't go back. You can only figure it out. So Kalvin did what broke business owners rarely have the guts to do: he started again. From scratch with different models, different rules, this time with SaaS, HighLevel, and a system built to never leave him exposed again. In this episode he gets brutally honest about: 👉 Why his 7-figure business was actually a mess behind the scenes (and how most "successful" businesses are) 👉 What finally made him stop chasing revenue and start building something that runs without him 👉 How he's scaling to 500 monthly recurring clients without burning a single dollar on paid ads 👉 The moment his definition of success shifted from cars and status to time with his girls This one's going to hit different if you're a dad trying to build something while your kids are still young enough to notice you're not around. Kalvin's been on both sides, the grind that costs you everything and the system that gives it back. This episode is just 25 years of real lessons from a man who lost it all and decided that wasn't the end of his story. 🎧 Watch this before you burn another week doing everything yourself. ⏱ Timestamps 02:15 – 23 Years in Business & The COVID Collapse 06:40 – The Moment Everything Changed 10:20 – Why Most 7-Figure Businesses Are Drowning 14:50 – Discovering HighLevel & The SaaS Pivot 20:30 – Dad Life: 3 Girls, Time, and Boundaries 26:45 – The 18 Summers Realisation 31:10 – Delegation: The 80% Rule That Changes Everything 36:20 – Networking vs Paid Ads (The Truth) 41:00 – From Material Success to Legacy Thinking 47:15 – Building Toward 500 MRR Clients 52:30 – Travel, Culture & Raising Independent Kids 57:00 – Final Advice for SaaS Dads 👉 This is where it starts. SaaS Dads S2/E - 04 : She Was a Teen Mom on Welfare, Now She's a 2x SaaS Gold Award Winner

This episode hit me in ways I didn't expect. Sherist Rodriguez got pregnant at 18. Divorced with a 2 year old and a newborn by 21. No college degree. Grew up on welfare in a home full of trauma and abuse. Her kids spent their nights and weekends in a hospital doctor's lounge because she was working every hour she had just to keep them fed. She didn't know what a depression was until she was already deep in one. Years later the stress caught up and she had a full nervous breakdown. Then a traumatic head injury almost two years ago that changed how she sees everything. But she kept going. She built her first business as a single mom with zero experience, sleeping three hours a night doing client work after the kids went to bed. She launched a SaaS two years ago and hit Gold in 10 months. Then did it again. Now she's building a second SaaS with her 31 year old son, this time with the goal of creating a family legacy that outlives her. And the question she asks every entrepreneur she coaches? "What is your body trying to tell you about your business right now?" In this episode you'll learn: 👉 Why she says your body is always talking to you (and what happens when you ignore it) 👉 How she built her first business on three hours of sleep as a single mom 👉 The guilt she carried for years about the time she missed with her kids 👉 How she hit SaaS Gold in 10 months with a founding member launch strategy 👉 Why she's building to sell this time and what she's doing completely different 👉 The parenting mistake she made by trying to protect her kids too much 👉 Why she says "ask for help" is the one thing she'd tell her younger self 👉 How she and her son are creating a generational family business together If you're a parent building a business and wondering if the stress is worth it or if you're a mom doing it completely alone, this one is for you. 👉 This is where it starts. In this episode you'll learn: 👉 How they picked ONE niche and rode it to 900+ clients (while everyone else chased shiny objects) 👉 Why Carly left a stable paycheck to join the business and what almost stopped her 👉 The simple role split that keeps them from stepping on each other's toes 👉 How to stop your whole relationship from becoming "work talk" 24/7 👉 The honest money conversation most couples avoid 👉 How they're thinking about raising kids without entitlement even as the money grows 👉 Why they think college might not even matter anymore with AI changing everything If you've ever thought about building something real with your partner but you're scared it'll blow everything up, watch this one all the way through.
