33. Krystian Kowalski. Forma. Materiał. Proces
🇵🇱 Krystian Kowalski (ur. 1982) — projektant, absolwent Wydziału Wzornictwa Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Warszawie oraz Design Products w Royal College of Art w Londynie. Prowadzi własne studio projektowe, w którym rozwija projekty mebli i obiektów użytkowych we współpracy z producentami. Krystian Kowalski (b. 1982) — designer and a graduate of the Faculty of Industrial Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and the Design Products programme at the Royal College of Art in London. He runs his own design studio, where he develops furniture and functional objects in collaboration with manufacturers. His work can be found in the collections of, among others, the National Museum in Warsaw and the National Museum in Krakow. We talk about growing up in a family of artists, studying at the Academy of Fine Arts, gaining experience in Milan and London, and why he chose industrial design instead of sculpture. The starting point for our conversation is the design process — from the first idea and sketch, through working with prototypes, to bringing a product into serial production. We also reflect on the role of materials, the importance of physical models in the age of digital design, and what collaboration between a designer and industry looks like.
