The Roswell Nurse Mystery: If One Cared for a Being… Who Else Was There?
It started with a video. I came across a story claiming that a nurse at Roswell was ordered to sing to a mysterious being to keep it calm—and that one night, it supposedly sang back. But that wasn’t the part that sent me down the rabbit hole. It was the nurse. If someone was actually assigned to care for a surviving being, who relieved her? Who were the doctors? Who guarded the door? Who cleaned the room? Were nurses working in shifts? And if some Roswell accounts describe multiple recovered bodies, how many rooms would have been needed? More importantly: how many people would have known? In this episode of the Mama Rae Podcast, we follow the people instead of the UFO. We investigate the nurses reportedly stationed at Roswell Army Air Field in July 1947, the mysterious nurse described by mortician Glenn Dennis, the later story of alleged Army nurse Matilda MacElroy and “Airl,” and what military personnel records actually tell us. We also confront an important problem: I have not been able to independently verify the viral claim that a Roswell nurse sang to a being—or that it sang back. So where did that story come from? She Says She Lived in 2031: What Happens to Consciousness When We Die?
A woman named Rubí Rolque says she entered a coma—and while her body remained here, she experienced something extraordinary: what felt like six years of another life in the year 2031. But instead of asking you to simply believe her, Mama Rae is asking a different question: Could something like this actually be possible? In this episode, we investigate what science currently knows—and still doesn’t know—about consciousness, near-death experiences, altered perceptions of time, and the strange flashes of internally generated light known as phosphenes. The Book of Enoch Investigation — Part 15: Did Enoch Become Metatron?
The Man God Took, Noah’s Ark & the Ancient Tradition That Changed Enoch Forever What happened to Enoch after God “took” him? Genesis gives us one of the strangest statements in the Bible: Enoch walked with God—and then he was simply gone. But that tiny unexplained passage eventually develops into something extraordinary. In Part 15 of The Book of Enoch Investigation, we follow Enoch through Genesis, 1 Enoch, 2 Enoch and later Jewish mystical literature to investigate one of the biggest claims surrounding him: Did Enoch eventually become the heavenly figure known as Metatron? And the evidence is much more complicated than the internet usually makes it sound. 1 Enoch does not call Enoch Metatron. Genesis certainly doesn’t. Instead, we can actually watch Enoch’s identity develop across centuries of ancient literature—from human patriarch, to heavenly traveler, revealer and scribe, to a glorified figure entering the divine presence, and eventually to his identification with Metatron in later Jewish mystical tradition. But while researching this episode, another story collided directly with our investigation. Researchers are currently conducting new fieldwork at the mysterious Durupınar Formation in Türkiye, a boat-shaped geological formation that has been claimed for decades to be the remains of Noah’s Ark. New subsurface surveys, drilling and extensive physical sampling have renewed those claims. So… did they actually find Noah’s Ark? We examine what researchers have really found, including reported radar anomalies, possible underground voids, elevated carbon measurements, newly reported pottery fragments and roughly 1,000 physical samples now undergoing analysis—and separate those findings from the much bigger claims circulating online. And there’s a reason Noah belongs in this episode. Because in 1 Enoch 106, Noah’s birth becomes one of the strangest stories in Enochic literature. His appearance terrifies his father Lamech so much that he questions whether the child could somehow be connected to the Watchers. Eventually the question reaches Enoch. And Enoch reveals that judgment is coming. The Flood. The Book of Enoch Investigation — Part 14: What Did Adam Actually Lose?
The Fall, the Human Body & What We Were Supposed to Become What did humanity actually lose when Adam and Eve were expelled from Eden? Most of us know the story. The forbidden tree. The serpent. The fruit. The Fall. The exile from Eden. But buried underneath that familiar story is a much bigger question: What was humanity supposed to be before everything changed? Welcome to Part 14 of the Mama Rae Podcast investigation into the Book of Enoch. At the end of Part 12, I promised we would eventually return to Adam—and after our investigation took an unexpected detour into Enoch’s map of the other world, we’re finally keeping that promise. We begin with what Genesis actually says. Adam and Eve lose Eden. They lose access to the Tree of Life. Mortality becomes part of the human story. But later Jewish traditions begin describing Adam’s original condition in much more extraordinary ways—with glory, sacred clothing, extraordinary status and proximity to God. So where did those traditions come from? And then Enoch enters the investigation again. In 1 Enoch, the Tree associated with life appears in Enoch’s cosmic journey and is connected with a future restoration for the righteous after judgment. But another ancient Enoch tradition takes things even further. In 2 Enoch, Enoch enters the presence of God. His earthly clothing is removed. He is anointed. He receives glorious clothing. And afterward, he describes himself as resembling the glorious heavenly beings around him. That has led scholars to an extraordinary question: Is Enoch recovering something Adam lost? We investigate the evidence—and the disagreement. Did Enoch actually become an angel? Or does the text preserve something potentially even more interesting: a human being becoming a glorified human? Then we return to new research surrounding Qumran’s mysterious 364-day calendar, because the theme we’ve been uncovering throughout this investigation keeps appearing everywhere: ORDER. Humanity has an appointed order. Heavenly beings have an appointed order. The stars have appointed courses. Sacred festivals have appointed times. Even time itself has an order. Adam crosses a boundary. The Watchers cross a boundary. Creation falls into disorder. And ancient Jewish traditions repeatedly imagine a future in which what was lost is somehow restored. Which leaves us with one enormous question: If Adam represents what humanity lost… could Enoch represent what humanity was supposed to become? And that question takes us directly into Part 15. Because later Jewish tradition makes an astonishing claim about the mysterious man Genesis says God simply “took.” Enoch receives a heavenly identity. A heavenly role. And eventually— another name. Metatron. But Genesis doesn’t say that. And 1 Enoch doesn’t simply say that either. The Book of Enoch Investigation — Part 13: Enoch’s Map of the Other World
The Prison of the Watchers, the Chambers of the Dead & Abel’s Cry for Justice What if we’ve spent all this time asking who the Watchers were… when we overlooked something even stranger? Enoch tells us where they were taken. And then he’s shown somewhere else entirely—a place where the spirits of dead human beings are being kept while awaiting judgment. Among them is someone we’ve already investigated: Abel. Cain’s murdered brother. Welcome to Part 13 of the Mama Rae Podcast investigation into the Book of Enoch, where we’re attempting something we haven’t done before: Reconstructing Enoch’s map of the other world. And new 2026 scholarship gives us a reason to look at these chapters again. A newly published synoptic edition and translation of 1 Enoch 22 highlights an important complication most readers never encounter: the surviving Aramaic, Greek and Ethiopic manuscript traditions don’t always preserve exactly the same text. In fact, combining different manuscript witnesses can potentially create a version of Enoch that— in that exact form—may never have existed as a single ancient manuscript. So this time, we’re not simply asking: “What does Enoch say?” We’re asking: Which Enoch manuscript says it? Then we follow Enoch into the strange cosmic geography of 1 Enoch 18–22. 🔥 The place associated with imprisoned heavenly beings ⛰️ Mysterious mountains and cosmic boundaries ⭐ Rebellious celestial beings awaiting judgment 🕳️ Separated chambers for the spirits of the dead ⚖️ A cosmic system of judgment 🩸 And Abel—still crying out for justice after his murder by Cain And something begins to emerge. The Watchers. Cain and Abel. Forbidden knowledge. Enoch’s astronomical calendar. The movements of the heavenly bodies. The separation of the dead. Jubilees. Judgment. These may look like disconnected rabbit holes. But they repeatedly return to one enormous idea: ORDER. In Enoch’s world, heaven has boundaries. Earth has boundaries. The dead have their appointed places. The heavenly bodies have appointed courses. Time itself has an appointed order. And rebellion happens when those boundaries are violated. Suddenly, the Book of Enoch begins to look like something much bigger than a story about fallen angels. It’s constructing an entire universe. And Enoch—the mysterious man Genesis says simply “walked with God” before God took him—is allowed to travel through it. But that leaves us with an even bigger question for our investigation: Where does Enoch himself belong on the map? Because Genesis never actually tells us that Enoch died. So where was he taken? And what did ancient traditions claim happened to him afterward? Follow the Money: Autism Speaks, Millions in Donations & the Questions Families Deserve to Ask
When millions of dollars are raised in the name of autistic people and their families, where does the money actually go? In this episode of the Mama Rae Podcast, I begin following the financial trail behind one of the most recognizable autism nonprofits in America: Autism Speaks⁠. We examine IRS Form 990 filings, audited financial statements, executive compensation, fundraising expenses, program-service spending, grants, donated media—and Autism Speaks’ public statement that 91 cents of every donated dollar supports research, advocacy, programs and services. But there’s an important distinction at the center of this investigation: “Program services” doesn’t necessarily mean direct assistance to autistic people and their families. So what does it mean? We also revisit years of criticism from autistic self-advocates—including concerns surrounding representation, messaging and the controversial I Am Autism campaign—while examining Autism Speaks’ position that the organization has substantially evolved since those earlier years. And I’m correcting something, too. During my initial research, I encountered claims suggesting that only 1–3% of Autism Speaks’ money went toward charity or families. The current financial records do not support describing its overall charitable/program spending that way. Rather than quietly abandoning that claim, we’re examining where it came from—and asking the more precise question underneath it: How much of the money raised in the name of autistic people translates into tangible assistance, services and measurable outcomes for them? This isn’t about beginning with a conclusion. It’s about following the evidence wherever it leads. And there’s also a reason you rarely see my face while I’m doing it. Don’t look at me. Whatever Happened to “No Child Left Behind”? | When Autism Support Falls Through the Cracks
Whatever happened to “No Child Left Behind”? The law carrying that name may be gone, but what happened to the promise that every child deserves meaningful access to education and opportunity? In this deeply personal episode of the Mama Rae Podcast, I step into this conversation not only as an investigative journalist—but as a mother raising two daughters whose experiences in the world can look considerably different. One of my daughters is neurotypical. The other is autistic. I celebrate both of their milestones. I recognize that their paths were never supposed to look identical. But as they get older, I’m becoming increasingly aware of something that is much harder to accept: Different needs should not mean unequal opportunities. After recently finding an educational environment that appeared uniquely suited to my autistic daughter’s needs, my family encountered a complicated intersection of insurance requirements, provider networks, ABA services, education, healthcare, and questions about who is actually responsible for providing—and paying for—the support a child needs. And it left me asking a much bigger question: Who is responsible for making sure an autistic child doesn’t fall through the cracks? The school system? Insurance companies? Healthcare providers? Government programs? Autism organizations? Parents? And what happens when every institution has its own rules, responsibilities, and limitations—but the child is still standing in the middle waiting for help? This episode is the beginning of an investigation. We’re going to examine these systems, follow the money, talk to families and providers, and ask difficult questions about where support for autistic and disabled children actually breaks down. Book of Enoch Part 12: The Second Body — The Question That Started This Entire Investigatio
This is the episode that brings us all the way back to the beginning. Before the Watchers. Before the Nephilim. Before Azazel, Mastema, the spirits of the Giants, ancient remedies, and all the rabbit holes we’ve followed… There was one question that originally sent me searching through the Book of Enoch: Do humans have a second body? We never fully answered it. So in Part 12 of the Mama Rae Podcast’s Book of Enoch investigation, we’re finally going back. We begin with the strange story of Enoch himself. Genesis says Enoch “was no more, because God took him,” while Hebrews later says he was taken without experiencing death. But what happened to his body? From there, we trace the idea through 1 Enoch, its imagery of garments of glory and life, and into the much later 3 Enoch, where Enoch’s transformation becomes dramatically physical and he is associated with the heavenly figure Metatron. Then we reach one of the most important passages in this entire investigation: “It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.” — 1 Corinthians 15:44 So does scripture actually teach that humans have two bodies? Not exactly. What emerges from the texts may be even more interesting: an ancient belief in transformation — from mortal existence into another form of embodiment. We also examine what modern biology can and cannot tell us about the body’s ability to change and repair itself, why ancient scripture shouldn’t be treated as a biology textbook, and why the resurrection of Jesus adds another major piece to this mystery. And just when it seems like we’re finally answering the question that started everything… Adam opens another rabbit hole. What was humanity believed to be like before the Fall? Did humanity lose something beyond immortality? And if resurrection represents restoration… what exactly is being restored? The Book of Enoch Part 10: Noah’s Lost Book of Remedies & the Origin of Demons
What if the Book of Jubilees preserves an ancient account of medicinal knowledge given to Noah—and passed down to his son Shem? In Part 10 of our Book of Enoch investigation, we return to a fascinating detail we nearly left behind. After the Flood, Noah's descendants were reportedly afflicted by evil spirits. According to Jubilees Chapter 10, Noah prayed for protection, God ordered the spirits restrained, and Mastema requested permission to retain one-tenth of them. But what happens next is extraordinary. An angel is instructed to teach Noah remedies involving herbs of the Earth. Noah records this knowledge in a book and passes it to his eldest son, Shem. What happened to that book? And why was this knowledge permitted when the Watchers had previously been condemned for revealing forbidden knowledge to humanity? We investigate the ancient texts and follow the story into the New Testament, where Jesus encounters demons who recognize His authority and fear being sent into the abyss. In this episode, we explore: The origin of evil spirits according to 1 Enoch. Mastema and the surviving tenth of the spirits. Noah's prayer and the remedies described in Jubilees. THE FILIPINO HISTORY AMERICA FORGOT: Human Exhibitions, Empire & the Complicated Truth.
Filipino people were once brought to the United States and displayed before paying American audiences. When I first came across that claim, I didn’t believe the story could be as straightforward as social media made it sound. So I investigated it. What I found was not just one disturbing exhibition—but an entire chapter of Filipino-American history many Americans were never taught. In 1904, more than a thousand Filipinos were brought to the St. Louis World’s Fair, where a 47-acre “Philippine Reservation” presented Filipino peoples and cultures to American spectators only a few years after the United States took control of the Philippines. Then, in 1905, approximately 50 Bontoc Igorot people were brought to Coney Island, where paying crowds watched performances in an attraction promoted as an “Igorrote Village.” But those exhibitions cannot be understood without examining what surrounded them. The Philippine-American War. America’s colonial rule over the Philippines. The debate over whether Filipinos were supposedly “ready” to govern themselves. The racial theories used to justify empire. The treatment of Filipino immigrants in America. The 1930 Watsonville anti-Filipino violence and killing of Fermin Tobera. And an extraordinary contradiction involving Black American soldiers sent to fight Filipinos overseas while facing segregation and racial oppression at home—including David Fagen, who defected from the U.S. Army and joined Filipino forces. Then history takes another turn. Decades after colonizing the Philippines, the United States fought alongside Filipinos against Imperial Japan and helped liberate the islands during World War II. Eventually, the Philippines gained independence. Former colonizer and colony became military allies. Today, that alliance sits at the center of one of the world’s most strategically important regions as tensions involving China, Taiwan and the South China Sea shape American and Philippine security. So which version of history is true? That America colonized the Philippines? That Filipinos resisted American rule? That Filipino people were exhibited before American audiences? That Filipinos experienced horrific anti-Filipino violence in the United States? That America later helped liberate the Philippines from Imperial Japan? All of them. History does not require us to erase one truth to acknowledge another. BOOK OF ENOCH PART 9: Sirens, Demons & Monsters in the Ancient Bible?
Our investigation into the Book of Enoch just opened a much bigger door. In Part 8, we followed the forgotten women of the Watcher story—the human wives who became the mothers of the Giants—and discovered that one surviving Greek tradition of 1 Enoch associates them with Sirens. But why would an ancient Jewish text use a creature we now classify as Greek mythology? That question led us somewhere unexpected. In Part 9, we investigate the creatures modern readers often separate into the category of “mythology”—and ask what the ancient world may actually have understood them to be. We examine the Greek Septuagint’s surprising language involving Sirens, demons and onocentaurs, the mysterious lilit of Isaiah, Azazel and the significance of the wilderness, and the extraordinary descriptions of Leviathan and Behemoth preserved in Scripture and 1 Enoch. We also explore an important historical problem: ancient people did not necessarily divide religion, history, nature, folklore and the supernatural into the neat categories we use today. So were these simply ancient names for animals? Symbols of chaos and judgment? Spiritual beings ancient people genuinely believed existed? Borrowed mythology? Or different cultures interpreting similar traditions through their own religious worldviews? We separate textual evidence, history, translation, theology and speculation as we follow the evidence. And underneath all of these strange creatures, Enoch may be making a surprisingly consistent point: Chaos has power. Evil has power. But neither has ultimate authority. Not the Watchers. Not Azazel. Not Mastema. Not Leviathan. Not Behemoth. And whatever the ancient Sirens represented—not them either. Then we arrive at our next investigation: If this supernatural worldview already existed within Second Temple Judaism, how much of it did the earliest Christians inherit? We’ve followed the story of the spirits left behind after their deaths. But there’s another group in this story that is rarely talked about: The women. CHINA vs. THE PHILIPPINES: The Conflict the World Can’t Afford to Ignore — And What Tibet Reveals
China and the Philippines are confronting each other over one of the most strategically important bodies of water on Earth—and the tension is no longer confined to ships at sea. In this episode of the Mama Rae Podcast, we break down the escalating dispute in the South China Sea, the Philippines’ legal position, China’s rejection of the landmark 2016 international arbitration ruling, and why encounters involving coast guard vessels, military aircraft and regional allies matter far beyond the Philippines. Because while these stories may appear unrelated, they raise some of the same questions about sovereignty, territorial control, international law, information—and what happens when Beijing’s version of events collides with people challenging it. Then we return to our ongoing investigation into the August 26 Nepal–Tibet catastrophe, where questions remain about casualty reporting, access to affected Tibetan communities, censorship, glacier and hydrological data sharing, and what warning signs may—or may not—have existed before the Langtang rock-and-ice collapse. UPDATE SINCE RECORDING: The confrontation has now spilled dramatically into an international defense forum. While Philippine Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. was speaking at the Seoul Defense Dialogue about the South China Sea and the 2016 arbitration ruling, he was handed a note conveying China’s position that the ruling is “illegal, null and void.” Teodoro read portions of it publicly and challenged China’s rejection of the decision. China has since responded, accusing the Philippines of “provocations and theatrics” and again rejecting the arbitration ruling. That exchange does not represent a military escalation—but it demonstrates how openly confrontational the diplomatic relationship has become. There is also an important update to our Nepal–Tibet investigation: Reuters’ latest photographic reporting from the disaster zone is now using a figure of at least 1,380 recovered bodies and approximately 5,500 people still missing. Because casualty accounting remains fluid and other official figures have differed, we are continuing to treat these numbers as provisional rather than a final death toll. Lindsay Clancy: What Does the 911 Call Actually Prove?
Jurors who heard Patrick Clancy’s 911 call have described his reaction after discovering his children as horrifying, visceral and unforgettable. But an emotional reaction—even an extraordinarily powerful one—is not the same thing as forensic evidence. So I went back to the testimony with a very specific question: What does the 911 recording actually corroborate? Patrick testified that after finding Lindsay outside their home, she told him, “I tried to kill myself.” He also testified that when he asked where their children were, Lindsay told him, “They’re in the basement.” Those statements have become an important part of the public narrative surrounding this case. But were they actually captured on the 911 recording? In this episode, we separate Patrick’s sworn recollection from what witnesses and experts said could actually be heard on the recording. We examine reporting from journalists who heard the restricted 911 call in court, Patrick’s testimony about difficulties connecting with 911, and an especially important exchange involving prosecution expert Dr. Gregory Saathoff—who listened to the recording and testified about what he could and could not hear Lindsay saying. We also examine something I’ve seen repeatedly since jurors began speaking publicly: Patrick sounded genuinely horrified—so does that prove he couldn’t possibly have known what happened beforehand? Psychologically, no. Human emotional responses cannot reliably establish prior knowledge. But that works both ways: Patrick’s reaction also isn’t evidence that he did know. Possibility is not proof. And an inconsistency—or an inability to independently corroborate someone’s recollection—doesn’t automatically establish deception. That’s why this episode is not an accusation against Patrick Clancy. I have found no evidence establishing that Patrick participated in the deaths of his children, and he has not been charged with doing so. Instead, we’re asking a narrower evidentiary question: What was testified to? What was recorded? What can be independently corroborated? And where does the evidence simply require us to say, “We don’t know”? We also revisit why describing Lindsay as having “confessed to Patrick” may oversimplify what the evidence actually establishes. Investigative journalism isn’t about finding the most suspicious explanation. It isn’t about finding the most comforting explanation either. It’s about following the evidence—and having the discipline to stop where the evidence stops. Cora. Dawson. Callan. They remain at the center of this case. Lindsay Clancy: The Jurors Are Talking — And So Is Patrick Clancy
The Lindsay Clancy trial ended in a mistrial—but the conversation surrounding this case is far from over. Now, jurors are beginning to speak publicly about what happened behind closed doors during nearly 40 hours of deliberations. Multiple jurors have described an apparent 11–1 division, with eleven jurors prepared to find Lindsay Clancy not guilty by reason of lack of criminal responsibility. According to the foreperson and other jurors who have spoken publicly, the remaining juror acknowledged having reasonable doubt but would not join the others in acquitting Lindsay. Those are the jurors’ accounts—not a judicial finding—and the holdout juror has not publicly provided his version of what happened. But that isn’t the only development. Patrick Clancy’s attorneys are responding to online accusations against him, describing them as false and defamatory, saying law enforcement has been notified and warning that legal action may be pursued against people making unsupported accusations. So where does that leave journalists, podcasters and members of the public who still have legitimate questions about the investigation? In this episode, I talk about exactly that. We examine what the jurors are now saying, what one juror revealed about Patrick’s devastating 911 call, why Lindsay’s own attorney Kevin Reddington is publicly rejecting conspiracy theories accusing Patrick, and why questioning evidence or criticizing an investigation is fundamentally different from accusing someone of committing murder. We’re also talking about the First Amendment—what freedom of speech and freedom of the press actually protect, and what they do not mean when someone makes potentially defamatory statements of fact. I still have questions about this case. I still believe investigators, prosecutors, witnesses and evidence in a public criminal proceeding can—and should—be scrutinized. But having questions does not give us permission to turn suspicion into fact. Both things can be true. ⚠️ UPDATE AFTER RECORDING — SEPTEMBER 9, 2026 After this episode was recorded, another significant development emerged. Defense attorney Kevin Reddington announced that he intends to ask the court on September 29 to dismiss the charges against Lindsay Clancy on double-jeopardy grounds. Reddington is expected to argue that there was no “manifest necessity” for the mistrial, particularly in light of what jurors are now publicly saying about the deliberations and the lone holdout. No judge has accepted that argument or dismissed the charges. It is the defense’s forthcoming legal position, and prosecutors will have an opportunity to oppose it.
