Allison Whaley is a polyamorous slut who reads smut, runs her own feminist erotica subscription platform, and parents three small children with her husband...and if you think those things can't possibly coexist, have I got a sexy-yet-wholesome episode for you. I loved talking with Allison. She's the first person I've ever met who reports having had great sex in college and only ever being attracted to stable, well-adjusted people. MY CODEPENDENT HEART YEARNS FOR THIS SUPERPOWER. She also knows firsthand how powerful erotica can be for women in discovering what really turns us on - and how men can learn what women really want by reading the smut they can't get enough of. Meow! In this episode: Growing up around purity culture in Kentucky, and the guilt that followed her first experience of being really turned on Discovering her exhibitionist streak in college: rooftops, a hill in Forest Park, and the library, oh my! The time she and her husband hired a professional domme as an anniversary present Her extremely mild “toxic ho phase” How two early relationships set her standard for what healthy love feels like Burning out in fintech and deciding to stop building someone else’s dream Why romance is the cash cow of publishing, and the Heated Rivalry effect The short erotic story “Female Nude, Reclining,” and why a man apologizing for misogyny is crazy hot Bothered Stories’ editorial standards: writing in the awkward moments and tagging content up front Erotica as a gentle way to come back into your body after trauma Celebrating male pleasure, from a super sexy flower-petal bath scene to the shame we heap on men who masturbate Being a mom, a CEO and a polyamorous slut at the same time, and the Feeld selfie that taught her to stop compartmentalizing How patriarchy pressures us to lock our sexual selves behind closed doors, and why those doors need to stay open FOLLOW ALLISON: Two-week free trial of Bothered Stories: https://www.botheredstories.com/pricing-plans/list Website: https://www.botheredstories.com Podcast (Smut Talks): https://www.botheredstories.com/podcast YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@BotheredStories Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/botheredstories/ SUPPORT THE SHOW! Three Husbands & a Sexual Awakening with Jennifer Kaylo

Jennifer Kaylo is on husband #3 after having a sexual awakening while married to husband #2, all while co-parenting her two kids with husband #1. She hosts the Open Bedroom Podcast, where she talks candidly about sex, life, dungeons, threesomes, foursomes, and moresomes. When I was on her show recently, she told me about a Thanksgiving dinner she threw with her husband that turned into an orgy. Talk about a horn o'plenty! Even though Jen's outlook on sex and love is fun and adventurous AS HELL, she also knows how to navigate her relationships with clarity and compassion. You'll be shocked at the revelation she shares at the end of the episode. In this episode: Growing up a Catholic schoolgirl, then landing in a hardcore independent Baptist school where a pastor told her that Satan loved her short, red hair Having unexpectedly great, orgasmic sex as a teenager, and the wise pastor who told her and her boyfriend NOT to get married Marriage number one: a decade with a man who was never really present, what the sex actually looked like, and the past-life regression that cracked the whole thing open The spiritual lesson she took from that regression, and how it reframed her entire relationship history Marriage number two: eight years of "safe," scheduled, disconnected sex, and the moment she realized she didn't want to die having had sex in only two positions Trying to find a sex-positive therapist in a deeply conservative area (and the "crazy cat lady" who finally got it) The conversation that opened her second marriage — and how fast it ended once it did Meeting husband number three on Tinder, the rocky first date, and the three-hour reunion that reset her whole idea of sex How she told her kids that she could love more than one person — and what they actually said back The current chapter with husband three: swinging versus polyamory, a near-breakup, and where they are now What her story reveals about how differently women are allowed to want things once patriarchy stops deciding what a "good wife" is supposed to look like FOLLOW JENNIFER KAYLO & THE OPEN BEDROOM PODCAST: Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-open-bedroom-podcast/id1523922106 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/1EmsUcd7s9n4HNNR0LDyG5 YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@theopenbedroompodcast/podcasts Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theopenbedroompodcast/ SUPPORT THE SHOW! Too Slutty to Buy a House?

David Carlson was a professional organizer years before they began identifying as polyamorous, but their slutty pansexual ways went back to high school. When they found an opportunity to start fighting for your right to be a slut—or poly, or ENM/CNM, or just a group of people with a tight-knit chosen family who wanna buy a damn house together—they jumped at the chance. David is now the Campaign Director for OPEN, the Organization for Polyamory and Ethical Non-monogamy. You might have heard news of random cities across the US passing legislation protecting nonmonogamous folks from discrimination. That’s the work David and the team at OPEN are doing every day, and they are gaining ground. It’s an exciting time to be slutty, pinecones! NOTE: David reached out after this episode was published to make two corrections. First, the laws protecting nonmonogamous people may not be able to be applied to chosen family groups—it’s a gray area right now, and untested. Second, protections were passed in Hazel Park, MI, NOT Ferndale, MI. In this episode: Why David told their high school dates they didn’t want to be exclusive, being labeled a fuck boy, and the pushback they got from boys The delicious night David had at 18 that clued them in to being bi (and later, pan) Growing up queer in a town of 3,000 on the Oregon coast “Not terrible”: how we downplay pleasure we’ve been taught to be ashamed of Taking the crumbs: why David ended up in monogamous relationships through their twenties even after being a subversive, nonmonogamous high schooler. Omission and small lies, and the cost of managing a partner’s reactions by not telling the whole truth Relationship anarchy explained, and why ranking partners can feel so wrong The sale of a polycule’s house that got canceled at the last minute How one letter to a local DSA chapter turned into a unanimous city council vote Seattle, Portland, Olympia, Ferndale, Somerville, West Hollywood and more: where non-monogamous people are now protected Plural domestic partnerships, and how a throuple from Portland went to Somerville, MA, to get one How patriarchy made romantic relationships the only kind that demands exclusivity How feeling politically helpless can stop you from doing anything to make a difference—and how easy it can actually be to do that if you’re willing to write a letter or make a call. Mr. Alamo City Leather Goes Primal and Gives Back

Isaac Cardona has a degree in accounting, a penchant for devising ambitious community service projects, a vanilla husband he calls his soulmate, and a deep desire to be flogged by his sir. He's also my very first local happy slut! Based right here in San Antonio, Texas, a place one might not expect there to be a social group for gay men who love leather. AND YET! Isaac is one of the founding members of the San Antonio Leather Men, and he's helped grow them into one of the biggest leather groups in Texas in the last four years. In this episode: The Hanky Code, decoded: what the different colors actually mean (yes, we go there) Growing up Jehovah's Witness, getting kicked out of the church at sixteen, and the uncle whose unapologetic queerness changed everything His "emancipation proclamation" coming-out story, timed down to the hour Five years estranged from his parents, and how that relationship slowly mended Meeting his husband of six years by mercilessly teasing their lovesick friends on Facebook Opening up a vanilla marriage into an ethically non-monogamous one How a now-closed dive bar became "home" and launched him into leather culture Building the San Antonio Leathermen from twelve people at a social to 75+ Winning the title Mr. Alamo City Leather and using it to fund toy drives, food drives, and an upcoming AIDS Foundation fundraiser What actually happens in his body and mind when he goes "primal" during impact play The harm-reduction rules he swears by for his more adventurous kinks Why living out loud and unashamed tends to turn people into more generous, active members of their community — a pattern Samia keeps finding, episode after episode, once patriarchy and purity culture stop running the show FOLLOW THE SAN ANTONIO LEATHERMEN: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/satxleathermen/ Facebook (event calendar — socials, Kinky Carnival, gear nights): https://www.facebook.com/groups/satxleathermen/?ref=share_group_link Website: https://sanantonioleathermen.com/ Donate to the Nov 21 San Antonio AIDS Foundation fundraiser: https://www.sanantonioaids.org/donate SUPPORT THE SHOW! The Swinger Queen Wasn't Feeling It

Taara Rose and her partner James were literally crowned Queen and King of the swinger community, but during the pandemic, Taara realized her pleasure had never been her priority. She set out to reconnect with her body, understand her own pleasure, and start advocating for it in all of her encounters. And the results...? Let's just say fire emojis abound, pinecones. And uhh, Taara got a tattoo of two pairs of scissors. 🔥✂️🔥✂️🔥 In this episode: How Taara and James started out as friends with benefits, and decided to be non-monogamous from day one of their Official Relationship Beach blowjobs under a double rainbow (yes, that really happened) What it's like to be crowned royalty at one of the biggest swinger conventions in the world The anxiety that started showing up in her body before events, how she wrote it off in the moment, and what it was actually telling her The article that got her kicked out of the swinger community How Taara's whole life changed when she trained to become a certified somatic sex educator The moment she realized her own pleasure had never been her priority Decentering orgasms and finding pleasure in coffee, dog walks, and sexy trees Negotiating a scene weeks in advance, and what two full weeks of aftercare looks like Going from swinging together to polyamory apart, and how James feels about it The Wheel of Consent, and why "thank you for your no" is part of it Why patriarchy has all of us—women and men—performing in bed instead of feeling anything WORK WITH TAARA ROSE: Website: https://sexedforthemodernbed.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sexedforthemodernbed Email: taararosecoaching@gmail.com SUPPORT THE SHOW! A Very Happy Manwhore with George Goulburn

A man who makes the plans, cooks the meals, puts his phone away, and genuinely loves giving women pleasure? Pinecones, we need to talk. George Goulburn is a 54-year-old Australian male escort who traded corporate life for a career making women feel safe, seen, and wanted. His bookings can include beach getaways, home-cooked dinners, and plenty of sex—but the attention he describes giving his clients had me swooooooning! George joins me to talk about what women actually ask for when they hire him, how he finds genuine attraction in his work, and what happens when someone catches feelings. We get into pleasure after menopause, the emotional demands of paid intimacy, and the double standard that celebrates men for the same work women are shamed for. George loves his job, and he’s candid about both its joys and its complications. Whether or not you ever book an escort, you'll come away from this one knowing what it looks like when someone gives you their full, undivided attention, and why you deserve it. In this episode: What George's last booking looked like, hour by hour (spoiler: he booked the Airbnb and did all the cooking) Why most of his clients are over 50, and what they ask for that women in their 30s don't The line between performing intimacy and feeling it, and why George refuses to act How he screens clients, and the red flags that make him turn a booking down The "you don't haggle at Gucci" rule for knowing your worth The myth that menopause means you "shut up shop," and why some of his clients have never felt more alive The sensitive question: does he ever not get aroused on the job? Catching feelings for clients, and what he does when that happens Sex worker burnout, a week-long overseas booking, and how he recharges The scariest thing that's happened to him on the job Why a male escort gets called a "stud" while women doing the same work get stigma George's message to the men of the world who blame women for their problems FOLLOW GEORGE: Website: https://georgegoulburn.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/georgegoulburnofficial SUPPORT THE SHOW! Abortion is Good, Actually with Sophie Nir

Abortion is good for sex. I SAID IT, pinecones. I’m proudly pro-abortion for lots of reasons, but one of them is that without abortion access, consenting to sex can mean consenting to pregnancy…and y’all, that can really, really ruin sex. And then there are all the other, bigger reasons: women being able to control their own bodies, direct their own lives, and not be forced to give birth when they don’t want to. That’s the real moral issue around abortion. Sophie Nir is the founder of the Abortion Positivity Project, a nonprofit working to move us beyond the apologetic, shame-filled language that still surrounds abortion—even among people who consider themselves pro-choice. Sophie joins me to talk about what happens when we stop treating abortion like something we have to reluctantly defend and start talking about it as healthcare, freedom, bodily autonomy, and a social good. In this episode: Why "safe, legal, and rare" still carries abortion stigma What Sophie calls abortion fan fiction Why "I could never have an abortion" may not mean what you think it means How abortion restrictions became embedded in American healthcare and politics, and how the original motivation wasn't morality - it was money Why Sophie uses the term forced birth How abortion is less politically controversial than we’ve been led to believe The times Sophie witnessed anti-abortion protestors coming into the clinic she worked at...to get abortions The difference between being pro-choice and being proudly pro-abortion The three pillars of abortion positivity Why abortion access matters for women’s economic, social, and political freedom What the Turnaway Study tells us about what happens when people are denied abortions they want Why saying "abortion is healthcare" isn’t enough if we don’t actually treat it like healthcare How nobody is conducting a national poll on whether Sophie should get sinus surgery What it would look like to live in a culture where restricting abortion feels completely unthinkable And why we need to stop talking like we’re losing CHECK OUT THE ABORTION POSITIVITY PROJECT: Learn more about Sophie’s work, donate, join the mailing list, and check out their merch: https://abortionpositivity.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/abortionpositivity/ SPONSORS: Become a more skillful lover with Kenneth Play’s Beyond Satisfied Pro course. It's Never Been Safer to Be a Slut

Getting tested for STIs is responsible. But what if your “comprehensive” STI test…isn’t actually comprehensive? Shameless Care founder Robert Johnson found that out the hard way when he tested negative for gonorrhea while unknowingly carrying it in his throat and passing it to a partner. That experience eventually led him to build Shameless Care, a sex-positive telehealth company designed to fill some pretty massive gaps in sexual healthcare. Robert and his Sex Is Good podcast co-host Anna join me to talk about what we actually need to know to take the fear out of sex - so it can be ALL FUN, BABY! In this episode: How Robert tested negative for gonorrhea while unknowingly spreading it Why your STI panel may be missing infections Why HPV is the glitter of the sexual world The HPV vaccine—and why adults over 45 may still want it PrEP, DoxyPEP, and the golden age of sexual health Why gay orgies are safer now than they were in the ’80s and ’90s Why STI prevention can actually give us more sexual freedom The ridiculous stigma around herpes HSV-1 vs. HSV-2 and how either can show up orally or genitally My own experience living—and having lots of sex—with herpes How herpes has mostly functioned as an douchebag screener for me Viagra and Cialis…for women?! Hot Slut on a Train with Natalie Davis

Natalie Davis was a straight-and-narrow, rule-following lawyer mom who married her college boyfriend and fully expected to live happily ever after inside the white-picket-fence monogamy model. Then her husband cheated—and eventually asked whether they could start having sex with other people. What followed was messy, painful, liberating, awkward, sexy, and completely life-altering. Natalie is now the author of Saying Yes: My Adventures in Polyamory, a radically candid memoir about surviving infidelity, dismantling everything she thought she knew about marriage, and discovering a version of herself she never knew existed. You know...like being a hot slut on a train. In this episode: Why Natalie never questioned monogamy before her husband’s affair The humiliation of being cheated on—and why she couldn’t bring herself to tell her friends How infidelity became an unexpected doorway into consensual non-monogamy The difference between choosing polyamory and being polyamorous under duress Why staying after betrayal doesn’t make someone a coward or a doormat Watching your partner put effort into dates with someone else and realizing he never dated you that way Why people are sometimes more comfortable with secret cheating than consensual non-monogamy Natalie’s first swinger party What swinging taught her about boundaries, desire, and speaking up Falling in love with another partner for the first time Coming out as polyamorous to family, coworkers, and her child Why non-monogamous people still need legal protection from discrimination The public-sex adventures that transformed a responsible lawyer mom into a hot slut on a train Roadhead, parking-garage blowjobs, sexting, roleplay, and discovering what turns you on in your forties Why consensual secrecy can deliver the thrill of cheating without the betrayal Natalie’s current liminal dating era What it’s really like living in a resident V with her husband and metamour The difference between a V and a throuple The difference between a living arrangement that feels peaceful and one filled with constant low-level tension Why relationships don’t have to last forever to have been successful And why Natalie’s story isn’t finished until she’s dead READ SAYING YES: MY ADVENTURES IN POLYAMORY: Bookshop.org: https://bookshop.org/shop/happyslut FOLLOW NATALIE DAVIS: Website: https://nataliedavisadventures.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nataliedavisadventures/ Medium: https://medium.com/@nataliedavisadventures Polyamory Today: https://medium.com/polyamory-today LEARN MORE ABOUT OPEN: Organization for Polyamory and Ethical Non-monogamy: https://www.open-love.org/ SPONSORS: Become a more skillful lover with Kenneth Play’s Beyond Satisfied Pro course. You Are Somebody's Cup of Tea with JessJess

Pinecones, this week I'm talking to JessJess — party producer, president of Mission Control, organizer with the Bonobo Network, and the woman behind Beyond the Rainbow Events, which throws some of the most thoughtfully inclusive parties in the Bay Area. She's also been non-monogamous since high school, survived a marriage that ended in a way I wouldn't wish on anybody, and rebuilt her whole life inside a community that actually showed up for her. This conversation is about kink and parties and rope suspension, but what it's really about is what it takes to believe you're wanted exactly as you are. You don't have to be kinky, poly, or anywhere near a play party for that one to hit. In this episode: How JessJess ended up with three boyfriends and a girlfriend in high school, plus a full safer-sex negotiation at seventeen Why she and her husband said "open relationship" for years, because nobody had handed them a better word What happens when the person you've loved for twenty years becomes someone you don't recognize Her first kink party: unicorn hair and a pink strappy outfit in a room full of black and red Thuddy vs. sting-y impact play, and the scene where she discovered that her body talks The femdom party where a man volunteered to be her footstool What emotional play actually is, and how going into an insecurity on purpose taught her to feel jealousy in her body before reacting to it Why tops sometimes need aftercare too The sexy dinner party where she was the biggest person in the room and got more attention than anyone else And how patriarchy sold all of us the lie that only one kind of body gets to be wanted — a lie that has cost every single one of us something FOLLOW JESSJESS: Beyond the Rainbow Events LinkTree: https://linktr.ee/beyondtherainbowevents --> that link will take you to JessJess's events on Plura, Fetlife, and everywhere else JessJess's Personal Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/dapperbetch Beyond the Rainbow Events on Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/beyondtherainbowevents SUPPORT THE SHOW! She Was Chugging Junk Food Men

PINECONES I'M OVER THE MOON! Mina was my anonymous guest in episode 10 of Closeted, "My First Boyfriend Suffered a Lot Because My Sex Drive Was Too High." You Can't Hate Yourself Thin

One of the biggest things making a joyful sex life hard to cultivate in patriarchy is our collective acceptance of patriarchal beauty standards. These bullshit standards have convinced almost everyone that they're not sexy. IT'S A LIE, PINECONES, IT'S A DIRTY LIIIIIIIE. All sorts of bodies are sexy, all sorts of people are sexy, and there really is someone for everyone - but only if we are able to deprogram patriarchy's fuckery from our minds and see ourselves for who and what we really are. Fat rolls aren't gross and cellulite isn't disgusting. Wrinkles are not something you have to hide to be beautiful. These ideas are just the lies of patriarchal capitalism trying to make you think you need to spend money and starve yourself to be lovable. Reality check: You are lovable RIGHT EFFING NOW. Listen to me read my Substack essay, You Can't Hate Yourself Thin, in this week's audio-only solo episode. In this episode: Why I went audio-only this week - I'm on a semi-real vacation visiting my mom for her 79th birthday! The lie patriarchy teaches about which bodies are allowed to be sexy Hitting my lifelong goal weight in 2019, and the fucked-up sense of "benevolent superiority" that came with it The self-love weight-loss advice I used to smugly hand out like gospel *cringe* How gaining the weight back spiraled into daily compulsive eating and shame My New York trip, the naked mirror incident, and the moment my internal sex machine screeched to a halt Growing up in a family that taught me to fear food and fat The baloney incident — my earliest memory of learning fat was bad The Atkins diet, the watermelon breakdown, and finally learning what hunger actually feels like The relationship epiphany in my mid-twenties that unlocked real, fast, joyful weight loss Crying into my ex's chest and realizing my "self-love" had a body-shaped asterisk on it What I'm doing now to reprogram myself Why the obsession with one "correct" body is patriarchy's rulebook, not the truth — and how we get free of it SUPPORT THE SHOW! When One Partner's Kinky & the Other Isn't with Amanda Dames

Amanda Dames, The Kink Consultant, loves helping couples struggling to reconcile a mismatch in their desires, specifically surrounding kink. She's a certified Somatica sex and relationship coach and certified sexologist who specializes in couples where one partner is kinky and the other one isn't, and the way she works with them will change how you think about asking for what you want, whether your fantasy involves rope or just finally being taken to a dinner you didn't have to plan. In this episode: - Why both monogamy and polyamory require partners to make sacrifices, and no one wants to talk about it - Amanda's first coaching move isn't catering to the kinky partner, it's finding out what the vanilla partner actually wants - Why "I don't have any fantasies" is almost never true - The massage problem: why her ask and his ask are way closer than either of them thinks - Porn vs. romance novels — both are erotic material, but only one gets made fun of by men - Nine out of ten of Amanda's clients are husbands who want to submit (and her theory on why the dominant ones are all from New Jersey) - Amanda's ten-session process with couples, laid out start to finish - Why she thinks communication is NOT the most important thing in relationships - The most freeing thing you'll hear if you're scared to top someone — they're already doing 90% of the work - Subspace, dom flow, and finding your authentic dominant instead of playing a role - Amanda gets real about her own jealousy, and says something out loud she never has before - How patriarchy cuts men off from their vulnerability and women off from their power FOLLOW AMANDA: Join her free monthly group for women exploring their dominant side — email info@thekinkconsultant.com with a photo or social handle Website: https://amandadames.com The Kink Consultant Podcast: https://open.spotify.com/show/3psOpSZMQQYm2cN69bIKwc Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/the_kinkconsultant Join Amanda at Hedonism for Swinkation (use code TKC50 for up to $400 off): https://www.swinkation.com/ SUPPORT THE SHOW! Become Your Own Best Lover with Annette Benedetti

My new crush Annette Benedetti — intimacy coach and host of Talk Sex with Annette — is one of the most joyful, flirty humans I've ever talked sex with. And she got here the hard way: surviving assault at 13, a town that acted like it was her fault, and decades of healing before finding her voice again. This is the story movies never tell — the part after, where you survive, you still want sex, and you go on to build the wildly happy erotic life the world tried to take away from you. This is the story I want for all survivors. In this one we get into: The misogynistic atmosphere that groomed Annette as a young girl, and the story her town told instead of the truth What patriarchy does to survivors (and why the conventional-wife "happy ending" is a myth) Reclaiming her voice and how President Trump unwittingly inspired her podcast Becoming her own best lover: her free 365 Days of Orgasms journey A love letter to the G-spot and A-spot - yum! Testosterone, perimenopause, and libido after 40 Layered sensation, patterns, and a very practical toy tutorial Whether you're a survivor, a late bloomer, or just body-curious, come get lit up with us, pinecones. Socially Monogamous, Sexually Free with John & Jackie Melfi of OpenLove101

Pinecones, this week is a little different: a joint episode! I traveled to Houston to sit down with John and Jackie Melfi—leaders in the American swinger community, owners of the legendary Colette lifestyle clubs (Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, and New Orleans), and the couple behind OpenLove101.com, where I used to blog back in the day. Between them they've got three-plus decades of experience with non-monogamous marriage, swinging, and sexual freedom, and their studio team handled the filming, so you KNOW it looks good. Full disclosure: John and Jackie and I don't agree on everything—the swinger world is a lot more politically diverse than the poly/ENM crowd—and that's kind of the point. This is what it looks like to connect across differences on the things that matter: autonomy, freedom, pleasure, joy, and integrity while pursuing all of the above. In this episode: Social monogamy vs. sexual monogamy—and why those "monogamous" birds are hiding a scandal in the nest If we were naturally monogamous, we wouldn't need so many rules How John went from Star Trek nerd to lifestyle club owner (via one very inspiring night in Amsterdam) The high school double-date that turned into a marriage… three decades later Jackie's journey from strict monogamy to sexual empowerment—and the daily journaling that became OpenLove101 Comets: the long-distance lovers (and friends!) you keep for years—and John's realization that he's been collecting them all along Why we need to stop fetishizing romantic relationships and start honoring romantic friendships My marriage, my divorce-in-progress, and what happens when someone loves the idea of you more than the actual you The childhood shame stories John and I both carry from first grade—and how shame rewrites our memories The myth that you can't be sexually prolific AND wholesome How men can become givers in bed (step one: actually see women as people) The bartender who taught teenage John everything, bless her Why "be a safe man" is the best sex advice there is The spit-in-the-mouth trend, litigated at last The micro-flinch story: what real attunement looks like in bed At the end of the episode, I share something personal: I lost a good friend to suicide this week. If you've been putting off a catch-up call with someone you love, make the call. And if you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988—or email me. We take care of each other around here. The Introvert Who Threw the World's Wildest Sex Parties with Polly Superstar

Pinecones, I am GLOWING. This week I sat down with a legend: Polly Superstar—founder of San Francisco's iconic Mission Control and the global Kinky Salon movement, latex fashion designer, author of the memoir Polly: Sex Culture Revolutionary, and now the magical mermaid behind the Writing with Mermaids somatic writing retreats. For 25 years, Polly threw the most whimsical, artistic, immersive sex parties on the planet... while secretly being a sensitive introvert whose bed was literally in the coat check. We talk about what it costs to build everybody else's liberation, why letting go of Kinky Salon was their real life's work, and how the story you're dying to write is hiding in your body. In this episode: How a latex fashion designer from London became the godmother of San Francisco sex party culture What actually happens at a Kinky Salon (lovingly known as "the sex party you go to and don't get laid") The haunted-house Zoom kink parties that kept everyone sane during the pandemic—featuring a demon topping you from Hell Why Polly says "everybody else's liberation was my prison" Living at Mission Control for nine years with a bed in the coat check Burnout, boners, and being SO over both What it's like to be raised with ZERO sexual shame—and then discovering patriarchy is alive and well Why Polly explored celibacy after decades of sluttiness (and why their community got weird about it) Setting out to find a lover in every port... and the same man showing up in every single one (reader, they married him) Being a California love bomber in Copenhagen Gender, labels, and why Annie Sprinkle's "metamorphosexual" might be the best one ever coined Whimsymaxxing as a 25-year legacy (thank you for the word, Liz Plank!) From Cult Kid to Pro Dom with Lyra

I met Lyra at Dixie De La Tour's birthday orgy in San Francisco. (Yes, that's a sentence I get to say now.) We made out, she flew across the country a few weeks later to spend 28 magical hours with me and my partner Daniel, and my crush on her is TRULY ridiculous. Lyra is a professional dominatrix and sex educator based in the San Francisco Bay Area who specializes in pegging, anal play, and helping people feel more at home in their own bodies and desires. But that's only part of her story. She also grew up in a high-control religious cult, survived an unimaginably painful rock bottom, and rebuilt her life with the help of community, pleasure, and an unwavering refusal to let anybody shame her sexuality. She's funny, brilliant, deeply compassionate, and one of the most emotionally intelligent people I've met in a long time. I adore this woman. In this episode, we discuss: How Lyra went from cult kid to professional dominatrix Why pressure doesn't work for sex (or relationships) Growing up in a high-control religious community that was oddly sex-positive... and deeply unhealthy Discovering polyamory and Bay Area sex parties Why powerful men often crave surrender What it's actually like to specialize in pegging The difference between empowering sex work and exploitation Supporting men's emotional healing through intimacy and touch Why Lyra believes we're all capable of reclaiming our "slutitude" SUPPORT LYRA: Website: https://queenlyra.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/queenlyra11 SUPPORT THE SHOW! He Thought Women Were the Problem

Alex is a straight Black man in his mid-forties who has only had one relationship in his entire life. For years, loneliness, rejection, and crushing social anxiety convinced him that women were the problem, and he reinvented himself as a huge jerk for most of his adult life. Deep down, though, he was carrying wounds much older and deeper than he realized. In this brutally honest conversation, we talk about sex work, incel culture, entitlement, masculinity, loneliness, and the long road from resentment to self-awareness. It's one of the most nuanced conversations I've ever had about the emotional lives of lonely men—and what it actually takes to heal. In this episode: The question at the heart of male loneliness: "What's wrong with me?" How rejection turned into resentment What it's like to spend decades searching for love without finding it How sex can meet a basic need but can't fill an emotional void Why he thought women were the problem The panic attacks that still happen when he approaches a woman My controversial theory about what lonely men actually need A dating strategy that takes the pressure off everyone SUPPORT THE SHOW! Casual Doesn't Have to Mean Careless with Billy Procida, Jr.

It's my goal to get as many of my comet lovers (and anchor lovers!) on the show as possible, and Billy Procida, Jr., is the first! Huzzah! I have such a crush. Billy is a comedian, writer, and podcaster out of New York City. He's been producing weekly episodes of the Manwhore Podcast for 12 years now, and his Naked Comedy Show - which is exactly what it sounds like - sells out every month in Brooklyn and is now expanding to Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and Chicago. He's been featured in the New York Times and writes about sex, dating, and gender for Mashable. I like Billy because he sounds like straight bro comedians like Joe Rogan could sound like if they weren't so deeply misogynistic. In this episode, we discuss: Billy's post-breakup happy slut era! Yay! Why casual doesn't have to mean careless How to flirt with women without being weird The surprising secret to getting laid more Non-monogamy, comet lovers, and relationship freedom Why nonsexualized nudity is important for sex positivity Sex parties, gangbang etiquette, and consent-oriented communication that actually works How to be emotionally available without rushing into commitment SUPPORT BILLY: Billy's Website: www.manwhorepod.com Subscribe to the Manwhore Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-manwhore-podcast-sex-positive-conversations/id864068000 Billy on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/billyprocidajr/ Billy on Threads: https://www.threads.com/@billyprocidajr Naked Comedy Show NYC (June 25): https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1989846095236 Naked Comedy Show Chicago (July 10): https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1989444027641 Hear Me Overshare on the Manwhore Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/can-you-switch-from-polyamory-to-monogamy/id864068000?i=1000753133897 SUPPORT THE SHOW!
