    Interview Ep 7 Jean-Luc Infini. What If the UFO Story Is Older Than UFOs?

    What if the UFO story didn't really begin in 1947? What if some of the ideas running through modern ufology like hidden teachers, superior intelligences, chosen intermediaries, warnings about humanity, transformation, initiation and even attempts to steer civilization, have much older counterparts in occultism, mystery schools, mythology and esoteric tradition? In this episode of Hangin' with Mist3rDouglas, I sit down with researcher and writer Jean-Luc Infini for one hell of a trip down the rabbit hole. Jean-Luc's work explores the overlap between UFOs, occultism, secret societies, spiritual traditions, mythology, intelligence history and what René Guénon called initiation and counter-initiation. We follow the thread through the Black Madonna, Synarchy, Saint-Yves d'Alveydre, Agartha, the King of the World, St. John the Evangelist, Rosicrucianism, the Holy Grail, Ernest Scott's People of the Secret, John Keel's Eighth Tower, UFO archetypes, science fiction and the image of the Grey alien. One of my favorite ideas in the conversation is Jean-Luc's exploration of science fiction itself as a possible carrier of an “impulse” whether understood metaphysically, culturally, psychologically or simply as the strange way human imagination prepares us for ideas that haven't arrived yet. And then we get to the question I care about most: what can we do about it? Because if there really are competing currents of influence through lenses like spiritual, psychological, cultural, political, technological or otherwise, how do we distinguish something that expands us from something that captures us? Jean-Luc's answer becomes surprisingly practical. Watch for hatred. Watch for greed and status becoming measures of human worth. Watch for the moment a belief makes everyone outside of it an enemy. And maybe pay attention to whether the things you're following are making you more compassionate, more grounded and more capable, or simply more afraid, more certain and easier to steer. This is a BIG conversation. There are historical claims, esoteric interpretations, speculative connections and plenty of places where Jean-Luc openly says “I don't know.” That's part of why I enjoyed it so much.     Laughter Power. Peter Carroll and Chaos Magick

    What does laughter have to do with magick? Quite a bit, apparently. In this solo episode of Hangin’ with Mist3rDouglas, I dig into Peter J. Carroll’s Liber Null & Psychonaut and isolate something that kept jumping out at me: Carroll brings up laughter again and again as an actual tool of magical practice. Not simply because occultism could use a sense of humor, although, come on. Carroll uses laughter in connection with banishing attachment, sigil work, gnosis, broken expectations, belief, emotional states, frightening visions, paradox, and even the way a magician receives the outcome of a working. And that got me wondering whether laughter might be something more useful than comic relief. Maybe it’s part of the equipment. A little bug spray and WD-40 for attention and attachment. Something that helps us explore wilder territory without becoming completely captured by whatever frame, belief, experience, entity, revelation, synchronicity, or "very important glowing lady" happens to show up.     Interview Ep 6. WarJord: Astrology, Magick & the Hidden Architecture of Reality

    What if your birth chart isn't a sentence but a map? In this episode of Hangin' with Mist3rDouglas, I sit down with occultist, astrologer, magician, mystic and internet character WarJord for a wide ranging conversation about astrology, magick, divination, fate and free will, synchronicity, consciousness, AI, UFOs/NHI, and the strange relationship between belief, meaning and reality itself. Jord did always monitor the stars. After growing up around tarot and astrology, he moved toward atheism and materialism, until repeatedly tracking planetary transits and real-world events forced him to reconsider what he thought he knew. From there we get into the practical question at the center of this show: If astrology and magick actually work what can we DO with them? We explore how to read a natal chart without falling into "fortune cookie" or pop slop astrology, why difficult aspects like squares and oppositions can become engines for growth, the role of Chiron and psychological wounds, and the differences between modern psychological astrology and more fatalistic Hellenistic astrology. Jord also offers a fascinating model for understanding astrology: your natal chart as a computer system. The planets are hardware. The signs are operating settings. The houses are areas of operation. The aspects are the wiring and connections. Your rising sign is the user interface. And your Moon? Think RAM. Memory and emotional processing. But this conversation travels far beyond astrology. What would it actually take to build a more self-reliant life, one based on real food, regenerative farming, natural homes, decentralized communities and technology that works for people instead of managing them? In this episode of Hangin’ with Mist3rDouglas, I sit down with Tony “Farmer Till I Die or Get Disappeared” on X a Marine Corps veteran, regenerative farming and permaculture practitioner, natural builder, educator, and the mind behind UniphiHQ.com We get into permaculture, regenerative agriculture, food forests, aquaponics, food sovereignty, homesteading, hempcrete homes, natural building, Bitcoin, blockchain, decentralized communities, work-share programs, sacred geometry, geodesic domes, cymatics, self-reliance, healing spaces and community-owned infrastructure.
