Noahide Laws: Why They Have Nothing to Do with Noah | Torah Portion Noach
Hi, this is Chris with FirstCenturyChristianity.net! This week our assembly is studying the Torah portion Noach (Genesis 6:9–11:32), and Ben Shapiro happens to have brought up the Noahide laws too. In this video, I explain why the Noahide laws have nothing to do with Noah. They grew out of principles the Jewish people saw people following, and over hundreds of years those principles became a doctrine. That process started in the first century and was finalized in the 12th century by Rambam (Maimonides), who taught that Gentiles who keep these laws have a share in the Olam Haba (the World to Come). I also talk about Ramban (Nachmanides), another rabbi of that era who disagreed with Rambam about how the laws apply and whether they lead to the Olam Haba. Here's the bottom line: If you follow God's commandments and believe Yeshua is the Messiah, you'll naturally live by these principles. That's not because they're "Noahide laws." It's because they're part of God's law. Keeping them apart from Yeshua does nothing for your salvation. Grafted In and Wearing Tassels? Keep Your Head on a Swivel | Oct 7 Reflection
Shalom! Three years ago, on October 7, 2023, Israel was attacked. On the Jewish calendar, this year's anniversary fell a few days ago on Shabbat, during Shemini Atzeret, the 8th day of Sukkot. That's the day the attack happened in 2023, and it's meant to be a day of peace. The Feast of Tabernacles points to the future in Zechariah, when all the nations will keep this festival after Yeshua returns. Those of us who are grafted in, keep the Torah, and wear the blue tassels look like Jews to the people who attacked Israel. And they won't stop to ask whether you're a Christian or a Jew. On October 7, people from more than 20 nations were in Israel, because Israel is a Western democracy that welcomes everybody, just like the United States. Even on a perfect, cloudless day here in Kansas City, the enemies of freedom and peace are still plotting. So brothers and sisters, keep your head on a swivel. Praise Yahweh that we get to know Him at this time, and that we can look forward to the peace that will come when Yeshua returns and sets up a Messianic, Torah-observant world for 1,000 years. Giving Until You are Homeless is not Charity

They gave everything to "friends" they met online but never in person. There's always a story: they're sick, something mysterious comes up, and somehow you can never meet. If this sounds familiar, you're being scammed. Real charity fixes the root causes that leave people in need and helps them get back on their feet. Take care of your own basic needs first: housing, food, utilities, transportation, and income. After that, you can give a small portion to charity. If you give your food money away and then rely on a church for help, you're taking from people who are truly in need. 📺 I made a longer video with practical solutions.
