Episode 348: 8 Years of Euphoric: What 348 Conversations Taught Me About Transformation

Eight years ago, two women who had just gone alcohol-free pointed themselves at opposite walls of an apartment, clipped on lapel mics they could barely hear themselves through, and recorded the first episode of Euphoric the podcast. I couldn't have told you then what this show would become. 348 episodes later, I wanted to sit down and talk about what all of these conversations have actually taught me about transformation. Because when you've watched hundreds of women go from one version of themselves to another, patterns start to emerge, and they're not what most people expect. IN THIS EPISODE: The cringe origin story of episode one, and why I'm grateful it exists What I've noticed about the guests who create the biggest shifts in the people listening Why being alcohol-free might make you the most powerful force in the room, and what happens when you're surrounded by other women who are too The neurological window that opens when you go alcohol-free and why most people don't know it's closing What Carl Jung's concept of individuation has to do with why some people feel truly fulfilled by their work and others don't Why the most fulfilling work on the planet might be the same work, no matter what industry you're in An honest reflection on a year that has been both the hardest and most clarifying of my career What's changing at Euphoric, and what's coming next

Episode 347: The Career Clues You Forgot About: Decoding Your Childhood Dreams

Do you remember what you wanted to be when you grew up? An actress? An astronaut? A teacher? As kids, we don't understand the career landscape. We build our first sense of "what I want to be when I grow up" out of a small handful of visible or memorable options, because that's all we've ever seen. But we do subconsciously understand archetypes. When a five-year-old says she wants to be an astronaut, it doesn't necessarily mean she wants to go to space. The real clue is underneath it: a love of adventure, discovery, being the one who goes first. The job title is a placeholder for a deeper desire we don't know how to express yet. Once I understood that, I went back through my own list of what I REALLY WANTED to be when I grew up to see how it measured up to what I do today. I was shocked. Your childhood dreams are not naive. They're clues. IN THIS EPISODE: Why what we wanted to be as children is more revealing than we think, even when the career itself makes no sense anymore The four childhood dreams I had and what the deeper archetype underneath each one was pointing toward The four childhood dreams I had and what closed the door for each one at the time What my sister told me at 7 that made me give up on this love Why picking a career at 18 with almost no understanding of what's possible is one of the strangest things we ask young people to do How the career I have today didn't exist when I was a teenager trying to decide what to do with my life How to look at your own childhood dreams for the deeper archetypes underneath Join over 20,000 souls who tune into weekly newsletters on the competitive advantage you get alcohol-free. Episode 346: Five Signs You Have a Bestselling Book Inside of You

My mind has been completely consumed with book writing lately, and I wanted to sit down and share something I keep seeing over and over again in my community: so many women who have gone alcohol-free, suddenly feel this surge of creativity and a pull toward writing. If that's you, this episode is for you. I'm sharing five telltale signs that you have a bestselling book inside of you, and they might not be what you expect. This isn't about whether you think you're a writer, whether you've written anything since college, or whether you have time. It's about something much more fundamental than any of that. Be sure to join me for a three-part workshop, The Story Only You Can Tell, happening September 16, 17, and 18, where I'll be sharing the path from "someday I'll write a book" to published author. It's only $1 to join. IN THIS EPISODE: The 5 signs you have a bestselling book inside you The surprising connection between going alcohol-free and creativity Why the most important thing you have to say is probably the thing that scares you most to say out loud The past life vs present life tension that needs to be expressed The one question to ask yourself when you keep putting the book off What Elizabeth Gilbert believes happens to an idea when you ignore it long enough What your algorithm fatigue is actually trying to tell you What we're doing together inside The Story Only You Can Tell, and why it starts at $1 Join over 20,000 souls who tune into weekly newsletters on the competitive advantage you get alcohol-free. Episode 345: The Book That Saved Me: How Writing My Second Book Has Become the Healing I Didn't Know I Needed

I submitted my second book proposal to my agent yesterday, and I am on cloud nine. This book has been living in my head for years. But the truth is, I didn't make real traction on it until this summer, which also happened to be the hardest summer I've had in a long time. Huxley passed at the end of May. The ocean swells in Southern California were so dangerous I couldn't even get in the water, which is my favorite thing in the world. My house felt empty in a way it never had before. And so, I found myself in cafes facing the ocean, writing for days on end. Writing this book became the salvation I didn't know I needed. Why is it that so many of us who step away from alcohol feel pulled toward writing? 82% of Americans want to write a book. If you're one of them, this episode is for you. I'm also inviting you to a three-part workshop, The Story Only You Can Tell, happening September 16, 17, and 18, where I'm going to help you take your idea and lay the foundation for a bestseller. I'll be sharing all my know-how of becoming a published author. IN THIS EPISODE: The moment I hit send on my book proposal and what came up that I completely didn't expect Why the worst thing that happened to me this summer became the reason this book finally got written The strange chain of events that kept me out of the ocean and put me exactly where I needed to be What most people get completely wrong about writing a book before they even start The one deadline I missed on purpose, and what I chose instead The real reason 82% of people want to write a book, and why it has nothing to do with being an author What a book can open for your career that years of content never will The package that arrived at my door this week that got me teary-eyed What a book proposal actually is versus a book and why you need one What Emboldened is actually about, and why I couldn't have written it even three years ago Join me at THE STORY ONLY YOU CAN TELL so you can uncover your bestselling story and take the path from "one day I'll write a book" to published author. Episode 344: Traveling with Your Parents While You Still Can (What 5 Weeks In Europe Taught Me!)

I just got back from five weeks in Europe with my parents, and I want to take you behind the scenes. My parents are in their 80s. My dad has been through two bouts of stage four cancer and is in remission. My mom, knock on wood, is healthy. How long will that last? How much longer can I see the world with them? This trip happened in the shadow of losing Huxley, my soul dog, which meant I went into it already cracked open, already thinking about mortality and time and what we do with the moments we have. And it turned out to be one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. We started in Warsaw, flew to Madrid, drove through Costa Brava and the French Riviera and the Italian Riviera in an SUV packed with carry-on luggage only, watched Spain win the World Cup in a medieval town on the Catalan coast, swam in alpine lakes in Slovenia, and ended back in Warsaw where my dad told me stories I'd never heard and my mom said it was all a fairy tale. This episode is more than just a travel diary. It's about ancestry, about what we inherit from the people who came before us, about why now is the time to go do the things you've always wanted to do, and about what grief and presence and awe have been teaching me this year. IN THIS EPISODE: How losing Huxley made me show up completely different this summer The hidden gem coastlines of Costa Brava and the Italian Riviera that barely any Americans know about What it was like to watch Spain's World Cup Victory from the streets of a medieval Catalan town The celebrity sighting we had in a sleepy Spanish fishing village while leaving our phones behind for an evening swim What my parents said at the end of the trip that made every exhausting, hot, logistically complicated moment completely worth it Living in the same Warsaw apartment building where my great-grandparents lived until 1970 The stories my parents told me about their lives and upbringings Why being in Warsaw every year makes me feel the thin veil between the life I have and the parallel one I could have had How this trip fed directly into the second book I'm writing, Emboldened Join over 20,000 souls who tune into weekly newsletters on the competitive advantage you get alcohol-free. Episode 343: Diagnosed with Leukemia and Given 10 Years to Live, He Went Into the Subconscious Instead: Peter McLaughlin on Hypnosis, Past Lives, and What Alcohol Does to Your Spirit

Peter McLaughlin was given a twin diagnosis 23 years ago: Lyme disease and leukemia on the same day. The doctors told him if he was lucky, he had 10 years. They didn't know what caused it and they didn't know how to cure it. So he went looking himself. What he found in the depths of his own psyche became the foundation of an entire life's work in hypnotherapy, past life regression, Havening, and subconscious reprogramming. He's been healthy for 23 years. And in this conversation, he shares what he learned along the way, including one of the most fascinating explanations I've ever heard for why we drink. We get into what hypnosis actually is and why the entertainment version of it has given most people completely the wrong idea. We talk about how trauma gets encoded in the nervous system as safe or not safe, and why that single distinction explains almost every self-sabotaging pattern people can't seem to break. We go into past life regression, what happens emotionally when someone encounters a lifetime they consciously have no memory of. And we talk about alcohol. Specifically, why it's called spirits. What it actually does energetically when you drink. And how Peter uses future progression in hypnosis to help people feel, in their body, the 10-year contrast between two versions of their life, one that keeps drinking and one that doesn't. IN THIS EPISODE The twin diagnosis that sent Peter into the depths of his own subconscious, and what he found there What hypnosis actually is, why the entertainment version gets it completely wrong, and the everyday experience almost everyone has had that is genuinely hypnotic Why alcohol is called spirits, and what Peter believes is actually happening energetically when you drink How root cause healing differs from symptom management, and why going back to the origin of a pattern is the only thing that actually resolves it Past life regression: what it feels like from the inside, what happens emotionally, and why the most mundane past lives are often the most moving Havening: what it is, how it works, and why the magic isn't in the tapping The future progression technique Peter uses with clients, and why the 10-year contrast is so powerful Why other people don't give you love, they just trigger the feelings you're already capable of generating yourself The one book Peter recommends above all others, and why he reread it after his father died Find Peter at blueskyhypnosis.com and on YouTube at Blue Sky Hypnosis, where his past life regression track has nearly a million views. Episode 342: Baby Loss and Miscarriage, a Pandemic Move, and Three Marathons Later: Ellie White on Reinvention in Midlife and Going Alcohol-Free at 47

Ellie White's 40s did not go gently. A pandemic upended her life in London and moved her to the Sussex countryside. She fell in love with the idea of becoming a mother for the first time at 43, found out she was pregnant, and very sadly lost her son at 22 weeks. Less than a year later, she had a miscarriage. She saw a photo of herself on a hiking holiday in Switzerland and didn't recognize the woman looking back at her and knew she needed a change. She started running. She ran the London Marathon. She trained as a health coach. And somewhere in the middle of all of that, at a birthday lunch when she was 47, she ordered a mocktail instead of champagne, just to see what would happen. She's been alcohol-free since. Ellie is now a 5x certified coach specializing in wellness and alcohol-free living for women in midlife, and this conversation shows that a relationship with alcohol rarely changes in isolation. It changes when everything else is changing, when life has pushed you far enough that you finally stop and ask what you actually want. We talk about grief, midlife hormonal changes and why alcohol makes every single one of them worse, what reinvention actually looks like for the women Ellie works with, and what it meant to lose her dog Maddie six months ago while alcohol-free, and to actually be present for all of it. IN THIS EPISODE: Losing a son at 22 weeks, then a miscarriage less than a year later, and what those losses set in motion How grief became the catalyst for a complete life overhaul, including retraining, running, and eventually eliminating alcohol The birthday lunch decision at 47 that changed her life, and why she describes it as her rebel side showing up How alcohol interacts with perimenopause hormones, progesterone, estrogen, cortisol, and sleep in ways most women don't realize What two months alcohol-free has looked like for one of Ellie's current clients The woman who went on a walk on the beach instead of a pub garden and accidentally joined a mermaid sea swimming group What it was like to lose her dog Maddie while alcohol-free, and why she's grateful she was sober to drive her to the vet that night Find Ellie at elliewhitewellness.com and on Instagram @byelliewhite Join over 20,000 souls who tune into weekly newsletters on the competitive advantage you get alcohol-free. Episode 341: Hit by a Ford Explorer at 40mph: Michael O'Brien on Presence, Mindfulness, and What Really Matters

Michael O'Brien was 33 years old, a father of two young daughters, a lifelong cyclist, and a corporate executive chasing the next version of success when a distracted driver in a Ford Explorer crossed into his lane and hit him head-on at 40 miles per hour in New Mexico. His trauma team had no idea how he survived. His first surgery took 13 hours. He needed 36 units of blood. The doctors told his wife he would probably never ride a bike again, would walk with trouble, and would face many more surgeries ahead. He's now, 25 years later, one of the most thoughtful voices in the mindfulness and presence space, and his framework for how to live isn't theoretical. It was pressure tested for 13 years inside a corporate career before he ever shared it publicly. We connected through our mutual friend Megan Swan, partly because Michael and I have both recently lost beloved pets who were more like family members than animals. We talk about what it means to take mindfulness off the cushion and weave it into your real life, why microdosing presence throughout the day works better than a 10-minute morning streak on an app, how our phones are engineered to do exactly what a magician does with sleight of hand, and what our animals are really teaching us about how to show up for the moments we have. IN THIS EPISODE: What Michael's life looked like before the accident, including numbing with wine every night and chasing the THIS ONE fallacy The question his mentor shared way too early that stunned him The concept of labeling our lives and how it brings us more suffering Why Michael called July 11, 2001 his last bad day, and what that decision has meant for the 25 years since How to take your practice off the cushion versus leaving it there while the rest of your day burns How to microdose mindfulness and the science behind why it works What dogs teach us about unconditional love, presence, and the length of a life What a nurse from his trauma room told him when she found him on Instagram 20 years later Find Michael at michaelObrienshift.com and his free app Pause, Breathe, Reflect on the App Store. Episode 340: 10 Ironmans in 10 Days and What It Taught Him About Mental Fortitude, Discipline, and Going After the Impossible: with JD Tremblay

JD completed the Epic Deca, which is 10 Ironman triathlons in 10 days across all six Hawaiian islands, and became one of three people in the world to ever finish it. He sold his house to fund it. He came home to a storage unit because he couldn't afford anywhere else to live. And he says the hardest part wasn't the race itself. JD is a military veteran, an engineer, a certified naturopathic practitioner, and an endurance athlete who has spent his life learning how to build the kind of mental fortitude that carries you through not just extreme physical challenges but the everyday ones that most of us are quietly battling. Depression doesn't leave after you climb the mountain, he says. It's how you cope with it that changes your life. We get into how he prepared for the Epic Deca, why discipline is something earned through structure and systems rather than something you're given, how he breaks down terrifying goals into something actually executable, and what sustainable performance really means when you're also a father who wants to be able to run around at the park with his son. We also talk about writing his book, Hunger for More in Life, and one particular message he received from a reader that made every bit of it worth it. IN THIS EPISODE: What an Ironman endurance race entails, and what multiplying it by 10 across six Hawaiian islands looks like Why discipline is a byproduct of structure, not a personality trait you either have or don't The difference between motivation and discipline, and when to use each one What sustainable performance actually means, and why longevity is built in the connections you make along the way Why your goal probably isn't big enough if it doesn't scare you, and how to break it down so you can actually move How he applied the same engineering method he used to train for the Epic Deca to writing a book The reader message that made him understand why he wrote it Find JD at HungryWarriorAcademy.com Book: Hunger for More in Life, available on Amazon Join over 20,000 souls who tune into weekly newsletters on the competitive advantage you get alcohol-free. Episode 339: Toppling Centuries of French Drinking Culture: Lorraine Vallery-Radot on Going Alcohol-Free in the Most Wine-Obsessed Country in the World

Imagine going alcohol-free in a country where wine is heritage, champagne is identity, and the only framework anyone has ever offered you is either you're an alcoholic or you're fine. That's the world Lorraine was living in when she started her Dry January four years ago in Paris, and decided this time to actually ask herself why she was drinking rather than just white-knuckling a month off. What she found on the other side of that question completely changed her life, and now she's building something that didn't exist in France even two years ago: a real alcohol-free movement, with a daily flood of LinkedIn haters to prove it's working. We go deep into: the French moderation myth, the idea that sophisticated social drinking is somehow different from the drinking culture everywhere else, and why the real question to ask yourself has never been "do I have a problem" but "is this bringing me closer to the life I actually want to build?" We also talk about how Lorraine built her alter ego, Lolita, as a way to step into audacity when fear and self-doubt were still running the show, and why that concept is one of the most powerful tools for anyone trying to grow into a version of themselves they haven't fully met yet. Episode 338: The Universe Slammed Me Into the Earth: How Jessa Frances De La Rosa Turned a Breakdown Into Shadow Work, Memoir Coaching, and a Career Nobody Had Ever Had in the AF Beverage World

It's our first in-studio podcast! Be sure to watch the version on the Euphoric youtube channel. Jessa Frances De La Rosa accidentally became one of the first alcohol-free beverage consultants in the country, helped launch one of the first non-alcoholic bottle shops in the South, and built an entire career out of weaving together things that didn't obviously belong together, until they did. She's also a trauma-informed memoir writing coach, a shadow work practitioner, and someone whose story involves a divorce after 14 years, three kids, prior military service, a master's degree in creative writing in Scotland, the pandemic shutting everything down while she was across the ocean for the first time away from her children, and eventually painting a wall on Task Rabbit that led to the job that changed her life. We talk about what the alcohol-free beverage world actually looks like now versus what it looked like when both of us first started paying attention to it, what shadow work actually is and why Carl Jung's most famous line might be the most important sentence you've ever read, why memoir writing is the rawest form of shadow work there is, and why awareness alone doesn't create change, community does. We also get into writing, because Jessa helps women write memoirs and I'm in the middle of writing my second book, and there's a conversation in here about resistance, accountability, and what it actually takes to write the thing your soul is calling you to write that I think every aspiring author in this community needs to hear. IN THIS EPISODE: What an alcohol-free beverage consultant actually is and how Jessa invented the role from scratch What walking into a non-alcoholic bottle shop in Charleston looked like when it first opened, and what it tells us about how far we still have to go with education Why mocktails with a bunch of sugar and a paper umbrella are missing the point entirely Carl Jung's famous line on the unconscious and why it applies directly to every complicated relationship with alcohol What shadow work actually is, the difference between awareness and integration, and why awareness alone can actually make things worse temporarily Why memoir writing takes you deeper than journaling ever could, and what it means to write as the child, the adult, and the witness simultaneously The childhood associations we form around alcohol before we ever take a single sip Rapid fire: the best alcohol-free drink she's ever tasted, the one book every aspiring memoir writer should read, and what her shadow would be in one word Find Jessa at jessafrancis on Instagram, thecaimcircle.com, or getuntoxicated.com Join over 20,000 souls who tune into weekly newsletters on the competitive advantage you get alcohol-free. Episode 337: What Alcohol Does to Your Psychic Ability with Psychic Medium Dallisa Hocking + Predictions for the Next Decade

Anytime I get to sit across from someone who works with energy and the spiritual world at this level, I go straight for the question I most want answered: how does alcohol affect spiritual insights? Dallisa is a psychic medium, intuition teacher, and founder of Spirit and Spark, and her answer to that question gave me chills. Her explanation is straightforward: everything vibrates at a frequency, and in order to access higher dimensions, your spirit guides, your intuition, or source energy, your own frequency needs to be elevated. Alcohol lowers it. This aligns with what I've heard from shamans and from researchers studying the neuroscience of alcohol and brain connectivity: when the different regions of your brain stop communicating, you lose access to the biggest guide you have, your own inner knowing. We go from there into how Dallisa's abilities opened almost overnight in 2015, why she believes everyone has psychic capacity and what spirit has been downloading to her about the next decade of global change, including what disruptions are coming for education, healthcare, careers, AI, and what's coming for the coasts of North America. We also get into astrology, specifically the North Node, which Dallisa describes as the northern star your soul aimed at in this lifetime, the clue to what you actually came here to do. She pulled mine live in this episode and I was immediately taking notes. IN THIS EPISODE: Why alcohol lowers your frequency and blocks your ability to access intuition and spiritual connection How Dallisa's psychic abilities opened overnight in 2015 through a message from a friend's recently deceased aunt Why she believes everyone has psychic ability and what you can start doing today to develop yours What spirit has been channeling about disruption in the coming decade, education, healthcare, careers, and the early 2030s The North Node in your astrological chart and why it might be the most useful thing to look at if you're questioning your purpose right now What Dallisa pulled for my North Node live in this episode Find Dallisa at spiritandspark.com, with a free gift waiting for you there. Episode 336: 4 Things Helping Me Heal After Loss

Grief is a strange thing to show up for publicly when you're still right in the middle of it, and honestly, parts of what I'm going through right now feel so private and so deep that I'm not even sure I have the language for it yet. But I felt called to share, because some of this might help someone. A few weeks ago I recorded an episode about losing Huxley unexpectedly on Memorial Day. If you haven't heard that one yet, go back and listen first. This episode is what's come after and what I've leaned into to heal and process my loss. It feels like I'm in the middle of a big spiritual awakening. Something about grief this deep, when you actually let yourself feel it instead of escaping it, has a way of shaking loose everything you thought you knew about yourself. My values, my worldview, my identity, how I want to show up in this work is all up for questioning. In this episode I'm sharing four specific things that have been genuinely helping me move through loss. IN THIS EPISODE Why I deleted the games off my phone and started auditing where I was unconsciously checking out The 14 books I read last month and why grief sent me deep into Jungian analysis, shamanic practices, and dream interpretation What dream interpretation has opened up for me, including a dream where Huxley showed me something I needed to hear The signs Huxley keeps sending me and why I've stopped dismissing what my intuition points to The February knowing I had about Huxley's time, and what that's taught me about trusting what I feel even when my logical brain argues back Why writing, including poetry that I haven't written since high school, has been the most healing thing of all What writing my second book from a coffee shop overlooking the ocean has felt like during all of this Thank you for the outpouring of love and messages since the last episode. Over four hundred of you reached out to share your love and sympathy. It has meant everything. This community is something I don't take for granted. Episode 335: Because She Stopped Drinking, She Became The Beyonce of the Birth World with Lisa Sykes

Lisa Sykes calls herself the Beyonce of the birth world, and once you hear her talk, you understand exactly why. She's the number one business coach for doulas, midwives, and birth professionals worldwide, and she built that entire identity by refusing to do things the way everyone told her she had to. Lisa spent 15 years as a doula after leaving a corporate career in IT following a redundancy and a moment of clarity that sounds a lot like the moment so many of us have around alcohol, a sudden, undeniable knowing that this isn't it anymore. She trained, she built a doula business that booked out in its first month, and eventually pivoted into coaching other doulas and midwives on the business-side of things. We get into what a doula actually is versus a midwife, why the birth world has historically undervalued itself, and how Lisa built a movement around the radical idea that supporting women through birth is not a lifestyle choice, it's a necessity, priced accordingly. We also talk about her alcohol-free journey, which crept up on her gradually through marathon training in Dubai, and how stopping drinking unlocked a level of clarity and conviction that she says 10x'd overnight. Plus the real conversation about partner objections, and why Lisa thinks the "I need to ask my husband" conversation tells you everything you need to know about whether someone is the right client. IN THIS EPISODE Why Lisa believes pricing your work as a necessity instead of a luxury changes everything about how people respond The marathon-training path that led Lisa to five years alcohol-free skyrocketing her business How a redundancy and a moment of total clarity led Lisa out of corporate and into entrepreneurship Why doulas and midwives have been historically underpaid, and how Lisa flipped that narrative completely How to handle the "I need to talk to my partner" objection The mantra Lisa and her husband have used through every big risk they've taken Apply to be our next Thought Leader to master premium selling and thought leader positioning to publish your book and deliver your keynote onstage. Episode 334: Feminine Embodiment, Dance, and Why So Many High Achieving Women Are Stuck in Their Masculine: with Ashley Roberts

Ashley Roberts graduated from the 5x Certification and has built something really beautiful since then, a feminine embodiment movement practice rooted in dance, somatic work, and helping women find their way back into their bodies after years of operating purely from logic and achievement. In this episode, we get into what feminine embodiment actually means, because it gets thrown around so much online that it starts to lose its shape. Ashley breaks it down through Marion Woodman's work, through the masculine and feminine as water and mountains, and through her own story of feeling completely disconnected from her body until she went alcohol-free and found her way into a feminine embodiment workshop that changed her perspective. We talk about what it looks like when someone is operating too much in their masculine: the hyper independence, the need for control, the inability to receive help, and why that pattern almost always comes from a place that once needed safety. Ashley shares how dance became her way out of her head and into her body, what her Monday night movement classes actually look like, and how this work completely shifted her marriage, her confidence, and her relationship with her own sensuality. We also get into the cyclical nature of feminine energy, how to know when softening is actually the right move versus when it's fear dressed up as surrender, and the very honest conversation about how alcohol was Ashley's old shortcut to the same thing dance gives her now, except one of them backfires and one of them doesn't. INSIDE THIS EPISODE: What feminine embodiment actually means, and why it has nothing to do with gender roles The signs that someone is stuck in hyper masculine mode, and why hyper independence is really about safety Why dance is one of the fastest ways to get out of your head and into your body How Ashley's marriage changed when she stopped trying to prove she was pulling her weight The difference between healthy surrender and using softness as a mask for fear How working with your cycle changes how you plan your energy across the month Why alcohol numbs the exact thing feminine energy is built on, the ability to feel LINKS/RESOURCES MENTIONED Apply to be our next Thought Leader to master premium selling and thought leader positioning to publish your book and deliver your keynote onstage. Best of Euphoric: The Myth of Normal Drinking

In honor of dry July, Karolina is debunking the most common myths and objections about going alcohol-free. What if everything you believed about "normal drinking" was a lie? Society puts "normal drinking" on a pedestal: the cultured person who enjoys just one glass of wine over a nice dinner. But is this achievable or even desirable? It turns out that 60% of regular drinkers overdrink, and it's also been proven that 40% to 50% of our drinking is underreported. And drinking doesn't feel good - would you rather be someone who drinks normally and never gets the wake up call? Or would you rather be a person who gets the negative consequence, reevaluates alcohol, and wakes up to the life you were really supposed to live? When you join Karolina's 22-day Dry Bootcamp, you'll learn how to relax and have fun without alcohol, build a sustainable, alcohol-free lifestyle, and discover your deeper why. Plus, you'll get all the guides, rituals, and meditations to help you connect to your higher self. We start August 6th. Sign up for just $59! IN THIS EPISODE: Why "normal drinking" is actually a myth and why what society views as normal is often an unhealthy illusion The majority of people underreport their alcohol consumption by 40% to 50% (!), plus, what this means for your perceptions of "moderate" drinking How intuition and listening to your body's signals will shift you into greater confidence, courage, and purpose The REAL impact of even a single drink on your body (think disrupted sleep cycles and metabolic changes!) Episode 332: Grief, Loss, and Why I'm So Grateful I Was Alcohol-Free for All of It: Losing My Soul Dog Huxley

I recently lost one of the greatest loves of my life, my soul dog Huxley. He passed really unexpectedly on Memorial Day. He was 11 and a half. He was fine that morning. He ate breakfast, he cuddled with us, he sat in the sun while we were at the pool. By that evening, he was gone. He had massive internal bleeding and we had no idea anything was wrong until his gums went pale and we were racing across town to an emergency vet that Memorial Day night. What followed was four hours of the most tender goodbyes I've ever experienced, and then one of the hardest weeks of my life. I've been thinking a lot about what it means to grieve fully, to actually feel it instead of pushing it down and numbing it. I did that in my early 20s after a bad heartbreak, drowned myself in alcohol, and missed the whole thing. I shoved it down and it just kept showing up later as triggers and pain I hadn't processed. This time I felt all of it. The shock, the devastation, the beauty, the signs he's been sending us since. I'm also sharing something I found in my journal from February, a few months before he died, where I had written about him without knowing what was coming. And what it made me realize about presence and about what being alcohol-free actually means at the deepest level. IN THIS EPISODE How we lost Huxley and what those four hours of goodbye looked like The three things that determine how deep grief hits, and why losing a dog child can undo you completely What I did differently this time compared to grieving through alcohol in my early 20s, and what that cost me back then The signs Huxley has been sending us since he passed, and why I'm not calling any of them coincidences What I found in my journal from February that I wrote without knowing what was coming Why being alcohol-free is really just another way of saying you are awake to your life What alcohol actually takes from you, and why you feel the bad but miss all the good when you numb LINKS/RESOURCES MENTIONED Apply to be our next Thought Leader to master premium selling and thought leader positioning to publish your book and deliver your keynote onstage. Episode 330: My Writing Process What's Different from Book 2 Compared to Book 1

My first book came from 15-minute morning writing sprints in a notepad before I even brushed my teeth. This second one makes me cry almost every time I open it. That's probably the best way I can explain why writing it has been so completely different, and why I wanted to bring you into that process right now, while I'm still in it. I'm currently writing my second book. I have an agent, I have a deadline I gave myself, and I have a story I feel so much weight around that I can barely open the document without crying. That's where I am right now, and I figured if 82% of Americans want to write a book, I might as well pull back the curtain on what this process actually looks like. This episode is about how I'm actually making it work, what I've had to learn about deep work versus shallow work, why external accountability is the only reason any of my biggest goals have ever happened, and why this book, about my ancestors and what they survived so I could be here, feels like the most important thing I've ever tried to do. IN THIS EPISODE: Why 82% of Americans want to write a book and almost none of them do The difference between the writing that runs your business and the deep work a book actually requires Tony Robbins' urgent versus important framework and how it explains exactly why your book keeps losing to your inbox Why I write my second book at 9:30pm after dinner instead of during work hours The Katyn massacre, my great uncle, and what I found in the historical research that confirmed stories I had heard my whole life Why I cry almost every single time I open this manuscript How to use force functions to finally make the thing happen that you keep saying you'll do someday What a book proposal actually is, and what the traditional publishing timeline really looks like If you have a book on your heart that you keep putting off, this one is going to feel very familiar. Episode 329: Nightlife, Situationships, and One Stage Away From Cervical Cancer with Rachel McElreath

Rachel McElreath is 28 years old, graduated from the 5x Certification, and has already lived more lives than most people do in a lifetime. She started drinking at 15, Halloween night in Atlanta, a bottle of Hennessy handed to her by a friend, parents in crisis at home, and spent the next decade building a life that looked fine from the outside and was quietly falling apart underneath. She held jobs, went to college, went to beauty school. She also worked bottle service in Dallas, dated men who weren't available, and kept ignoring an inner voice that was getting louder by the year. The thing that finally made her stop wasn't a gradual awakening. It was a phone call from her doctor in late 2023 telling her she was one stage away from cervical cancer. That week, she left the relationship she was in. A few weeks later, she quit drinking and made the decision to be celibate, both at the same time. She spent 2024 meeting herself for the first time, rebuilding from almost nothing, and figuring out who she actually was without alcohol, without men, and without the nightlife identity she had built her entire social world around. Now she coaches women through that same process, not just getting sober, but building a life they're actually excited to wake up to. This conversation goes places a lot of podcast episodes don't. We talk about HPV and cervical cancer, three abortions in one year, sexual assault, trauma bonding, and what it actually feels like to realize that the shame you've been carrying isn't yours to keep. Rachel shares all of it without flinching, and that's exactly what makes her work so powerful.
