    Episode 3 - Yugi & the Tengu

Hello Story Lovers! Today's story from Japan and features a wonderful creature from Japanese myth and legend – the Tengu! Tengus are supernatural beings with special powers and magical items. They can be depicted as part man, part bird, even as part monkey, and they have often been painted or drawn with red faces and long noses or beaks. They are not to be trifled with, as you will soon find out. If you want to find out more about Tengus you can do so HERE. We love Geraldine McCaughrean's version of the story - 'Never Tangle with a Tengu', which Emily heard as a child and we owe credit to. Halloween Jokes We need your fabulous, spooky Halloween jokes! Episode 19 - Ali Baba & the Forty Thieves Part 1

Hello Story lovers! We are so excited to bring you a two parter from the famous collection: Arabian Nights, also known as ‘The Thousand and One Nights!’ Do you remember the Fisherman and the Genie back in Season one? That’s from the Arabian nights. All the tales are told by the beautiful Sheherazade who tells a story every night for 1001 nights so that her husband, the King, will keep her alive - yikes! Her stories are so entertaining, and she’s so very clever, she leaves them on a bit of a cliff hanger so the King just has to hear how the story ends the next night! And it saves her life. We are leaving a bit of cliffhanger too! Part 1 this week and Part 2 next week!! If you want to read more of the tales in this brilliant collection, you can find them HERE. Lost Stories - Catching the Moon & The Froggy Song

Hey story lovers! While you’re waiting for the next new story, we’ve decided to look back into the archives at some stories that got a bit lost for a while. Every other week, we will be giving these episodes a spot light and calling them 'the lost stories'. Our story comes from a collection of stories from the Southern states of America. And features a very tricky character who loves getting up to mischief. Brer Rabbit. These stories were carried over the ocean by African slaves, and although we might now feel a bit uncomfortable with the voice of Uncle Remus (stories told through a white man's lens) these animal stories are fantastic and need to be celebrated in their own right!
