What My Recent Dreams Revealed About My Evolving Identity and My Relationship with Money

What can two strange dreams reveal when you stop trying to figure out what they mean and start following your own associations? In this episode, I walk through two recent dreams that occurred over two nights. In the first, I’m with my former husband and discover that my feet are covered in hair. In the second, I jump out through a window into an SUV and direct my former husband where to drive. Rather than treating dream symbols as having fixed meanings, I demonstrate the process I use to explore dreams: notice the images, follow the associations, stay curious about what they evoke, and find meaning by wondering where the metaphor is in my life. As I followed the associations of John, hair growth, feet, wyrd, uniqueness, and my own history, something unexpected emerged: a connection between my mother wound and my relationship with money and worthiness. This is a real-time example of how depth psychology can help us listen to the unconscious without forcing it to give us an answer. What If We Didn't Have to Earn Our Right to Exist? Rethinking Work, Worth, and What Human Beings Are Here to Do

What if our obsession with working hard is about more than productivity? In this episode, I follow an unexpected reaction to the cultural celebration of "working hard" into a deeper question about what we've been taught to believe about being human. Why do we equate effort with worth? Why do we feel we have to earn a living, prove ourselves, produce, achieve, and continually optimize our lives? I share the surprising story of how my consulting practice, alinea, emerged after I lost what I thought was my dream job. I didn't have a business plan or a five-year goal. I couldn't even get a conventional job interview. Instead, I followed what appeared in front of me, responded to opportunities, and eventually built a thriving consulting practice. Looking back, I see something I didn't have language for at the time: responsive emergence. There is a difference between working hard from fear and necessity and responding with energy, curiosity, and discernment to what is actually emerging. I also reflect on an experience at a community foundation that made me question what we mean by calling something a "result." What if the purpose of work, money, technology, and economic systems isn't simply more production and growth? What if meaningful results include consciousness, relationship, creativity, meaning, and human flourishing? And finally, I ask a much bigger question: What might human beings become capable of when we no longer organize our lives around proving that we deserve to be here? When Being Attracted to Someone Catches You Off Guard

Ever find yourself attracted to someone you shouldn’t be attracted to especially when you’re already in a relationship? What if that attraction isn’t a threat…but a message? In this short video, I explore how attraction often points to something your unconscious is asking you to develop, reclaim, or live more fully. Instead of acting on attraction or suppressing it, I suggest lingering with it and listening for what wants to be known. In this episode, I reflect on a talk by Alan Watts, in which he suggested that our five senses are always perceiving the past, while intuition, faith, and belief shape the future. Much of what guides us lives below conscious awareness, quietly influencing our choices, desires, and longings. I explore how the body itself can become a trustworthy guide; not as something to control or override, but as a living intelligence that sometimes leads us toward truth and sometimes into experiences that are essential to our unfolding. Artemis Rising: Why Sovereign Women Make Men Stronger (blog post)

In this episode, I read my blog post, which explores the rise of the Sigma female and why she may be less a social trend and more an archetypal correction. I share my fascination with the growing online discourse around this “new kind of woman” and trace her roots to Artemis, the Greek goddess of the hunt, the moon, and protector of women and girls. Like Artemis, the sovereign woman is already whole. She does not organize her life around being chosen, approved of, or validated by men. And paradoxically, this is precisely what makes her transformative in a relationship. I explore how the Sigma female disrupts patriarchal validation systems that reward men for performance, dominance, status, and external achievement rather than inner authority. When women overadapt to men by shrinking, pleasing, or carrying emotional labor that isn’t theirs, men are not strengthened by it. They are weakened. Their development stalls. Their relationship to their own soul atrophies. The sovereign woman refuses this dynamic. She does not rescue men from themselves. Instead, her presence quietly yet powerfully confronts them with a choice: to remain dependent on external validation or to begin the inward journey toward self-authority. I imagine a dialogue between a Sigma female and a man whose unconscious is ready. A man who no longer needs a woman to uphold his identity, regulate his emotions, or confirm his worth. In this way, the sovereign woman becomes a liberating force, not by leading men, but by no longer leading for them. I also share my own evolution toward sovereignty and close with questions that reach beyond gender politics: Do women truly want sovereignty if it means no longer being needed in the old ways? And are men ready for a form of sovereignty that is not about dominance, control, or hierarchy, but about inner grounding and soul-based strength? Why Random Dream Images Are Never Random

Many people dismiss dream images as random, strange, or meaningless. But in depth psychology, nothing in a dream appears by accident. When you can hold the tension between what feels like opposing ideas or forces, eventually, a reconciliation between the two will happen. This is exactly what's happening during an ah-ha! moment. But what do you do with the insight? Sometimes, the initial liberation is overcome by a kind of buyer's remorse.
