When the demon Kalayavana besieged Mathura with 30 million mleccha soldiers simultaneously with Jarasandha's 18th planned invasion, Krishna devised a strategic plan to protect the Yadavas. He had Vishwakarma construct the magnificent ocean-city of Dwaraka spanning 12 yojanas, gifted with divine treasures by Indra, Varuna, Kubera and other devas, and secretly transferred all citizens there through his yogamaya power.
