Then alcohol and addiction nearly destroyed everything.In this episode Josh shares the unbelievable story of how alcohol, cocaine, codependency, repeated arrests, DUIs, probation violations and destructive relationships took him from a successful 20-year career in commercial real estate to jail, solitary confinement and the possibility of spending years in prison.Josh opens up about losing his career, money, relationships and identity as his addiction spiraled out of control. He talks about going through rehab multiple times, detoxing in jail, being arrested by SWAT, watching his dog get shot during the arrest, spending 40 days alone in solitary confinement and eventually reaching a point where he realized his life had to completely change.While locked inside a jail cell with almost everything taken away from him, Josh says he finally stopped fighting.He began praying, practicing gratitude, working through recovery programs and rebuilding his relationship with God. What started with simply waking up every morning and saying “thank you” eventually became a completely different way of living.Josh was facing the possibility of years in prison when an unexpected opportunity for recovery court changed the trajectory of his life.
