Czech Your Day is a daily podcast that helps foreigners really understand and learn Czech through weekly topics. Each episode of the week gets you one step closer to understanding Friday's episode - the story. Renča shows not only the "textbook version" of Czech, but also the "real-life Czech" (that means the way Czech people speak at home or with their friends). Yes, that's exactly what foreigners struggle with - being able to have a normal conversation with your Czech friends and colleagues. Renča also shares her tips and tricks that will help you on your learning journey. Keep listening and you will realize that your Czech is definitely getting better 😉

So how did I end up riding on SNOW? ❄️😄 In today's A2 Czech Story, I'm taking you with me on a little trip to the Krkonoše mountains. What can you practise with this story? verbs of movement in context the Czech past tense useful vocabulary for trips and the mountains everyday phrases and useful word combinations following a Czech story without understanding every word You'll also hear a few words that may be above A2. That's intentional. They make the story sound more natural — and the story is carefully built to give you enough context to guess what they mean and keep following what is happening. Your challenge? Don't try to translate every word. Listen, follow the story and notice how much you can understand from the context. And don't stop at listening. At the end, I'll ask you a few questions. From Failure to Phoenix: Mir's Remarkable A2 Exam Story
Send Renča a text 😉 This episode is so special. Why? Because Mir is openly talking about his failure during the first attempt for his A2 exam. Why did he fail? What happened next before meeting me and starting a new chapter in his learning journey that lead to his SUCCESS? Why 58 x 90-minute traditional lessons didn't lead him to success? How is it possible that the equivalent of 9 lessons with me (54 x 15-minute lessons = 9 x 90-minute lessons) was more than enough for him to pass the A2 exam with confidence? This was not only about learning vocabulary. This was also about overcoming a trauma. I am not a therapist. I am not a psychologist or a psychiatrist either - yet there are situations in the life of a tutor when special methods, huge doses of empathy and gentle approach combined with pushing the student at the right moments for him to be able to overcome the obstacles and succeed - all of this combined is simply necessary... Yesterday's Tale: A Peek into Martin's Day (CO VČERA DĚLAL MARTIN?)
Send Renča a text 😉 Renča has created a short story about Martin's day. Why? It will give you a chance to practice all the verbs in the 3rd person (masculine) as well as time (v půl sedmé, ve tři čtvrtě na pět etc.), places and exressions useful when you want to talk about your day. If you are a beginner or you struggle with listening, use the part in the slow mode first. Listen to it without a handout at first. It may be frustrating, I know. But your ears need to get used to the Czech sounds and words. Try to understand from the context as much as possible. Then use the handout. If you still struggle, use the translations on my website. Once you feel comfortable (it may take several days), push yourself and listen repeatedly to the fast version (without a handout). It may be really challenging at first, but don't give up. It's just like in the gym - your ears need to get used to the "heavy weights" (= fast mode). Listening to the episode just once isn't enough.
