VDP. Weingut Bürklin-Wolf: Biodynamic Grand Cru Riesling, Pfalz, Germany | Cool Climate Wine Summit
transcript
show notes
On the road to the Cool Climate Wine Summit in Warsaw, we met Fabian Fleckenstein, export manager of Weingut Dr. Bürklin-Wolf in Wachenheim, Pfalz, one of Germany's biodynamic pioneers for Riesling. Over a glass of Gaisböhl Grand Cru, we talk about his path from Franken and Geisenheim into wine sales, a formative season at the biodynamic estate Pranzegg in Alto Adige, the estate's own Burgundy-style Grand Cru classification from 1994, and its switch straight from conventional to biodynamic farming (Biodyvin-certified since 2008).
Interview in English.
