Meanwhile, our concubine So-ok keeps her affair with In-ho going… and ends up pregnant with his baby! All of Seoul society knows, and everyone just looks the other way. We were so excited for this sexy sageuk based on the casting alone, and thank god for this superb cast, because their acting was the one saving grace. Car chases, blood transfusions, a thunderstorm, and the kiss we've ALL been waiting for. Jeong-hyeok passes out from his gunshot wound, so Se-ri takes the wheel. Jeong-hyeok admits to Dan that he likes Se-ri, and Dan finds out exactly who Se-ri is. And Baby Scammer tells Se-ri the one thing she can't ignore: Jeong-hyeok could die because of her.     Welcome to YOUR Korean drama podcast! Hello Sarangees! We’re BACK with Episode 6 of Crash Landing on You, and y’all, this episode was absolutely insane!! It was heartwarming, heartbreaking, AND action-packed. It felt so climactic that we thought we'd skipped ahead to episode 14 or 15! It's Jeong-hyeok's turn to get jealous and super protective, and he does NOT hold back when Baby Scammer pulls Se-ri into the elevator. Seo Dan confronts the couple right outside their hotel rooms, then drags Jeong-hyeok to a family dinner that night, and by the end of dinner, there's a wedding date. Yikes! Baby Scammer and Se-ri have coffee, and he decides to sell Se-ri out to her brother to save his own neck. But he also gets a sweet moment with Seo Dan on the hotel roof as they're officially introduced. Interesting… Then comes the first snow. Se-ri and Jeong-hyeok share a sweet, aching moment in a Pyongyang bar, and we are NOT okay. Se-ri says goodbye to the village ajummas, who are heartbroken to see her go. Then she has one last picnic with her dwarflings, where Chi-soo reads her a poem and she sings for them. OMG, grab the tissues. The next morning, Jeong-hyeok sends Se-ri off to the airport with only Kwang-beom, and a tearful Se-ri says goodbye to him. But on the road, Lunatic Lt. shows up with his decepticon trucks, and Jeong-hyeok comes to the rescue on a MOTORCYCLE in the craziest action sequence ever. Shots are fired. OMG. WHAT IS HAPPENING.     Welcome to YOUR Korean drama podcast! Sarangees! We’re BACK with episode 5 of CLOY, and OMG, Se-ri’s fallen hard for her North Korean man. We’re also falling hard too. That swoony campfire scene by the train?!? ::SWOON:: We pick up where Jeong-hyeok finds Se-ri in the marketplace with the scented candle, and then they turn the corner to find Seo Dan waiting on his doorstep. OMO OMO! Jeong-hyeok stumbles through, explaining who Se-ri is, but Seo Dan does not care AT ALL. He drives Dan back to Pyongyang and gets roped into dinner with her crazy mom and uncle. Then he makes a pit stop at his parents' house and stays the night. Meanwhile, Se-ri is back home waiting for him, and she’s drinking HEAVILY with beer cans lined up like the 38th parallel. Lord. Jeong-hyeok hatches a new plan to get Se-ri home, which means taking the train to Pyongyang to get her passport. The train breaks down, and they're stuck for 16 hours with nothing to do but sit with all those confusing feelings. And of course, since this is a K-drama, baby scammer Seung-joon is on that same train. Once they finally reach Pyongyang, Se-ri's brother tracks him down, and that's the exact moment Seung-joon spots Se-ri and drags her into an elevator. Enter one very PROTECTIVE Jeong-hyeok, and a cliffhanger for the ages. Our deep dive this week is on the ever-so-handsome Hyun Bin! Strap in, Sarangees. It's bananas. This week, episode 4 of CLOY gets crazy with hijinks when Se-ri realizes that she may be stuck in North Korea for longer! Picking up right where we left off, Se-ri and Jeong-hyeok get caught kissing by the coast guard, only for her ride home to sail off without her. This episode gives us a real look at everyday life in North Korea as Se-ri gets closer to Jeong-hyeok and her Company Five dwarves/ducklings or dwarflings! It's time for our sixth drama chase: Crash Landing on You! 🌪️🪂💥❤️ We're fully ready to paraglide into North Korea with our heroine Se-ri so she can find her Jeong-hyeok! First up, we get into why we chose CLOY and why it took us SO long to rewatch it. Then we meet Yoon Se-ri, chaebol CEO of Se-ri's Choice, and step into her world. Her father, chairman of Queens Group (same name, different family from Queen of Tears!), names her his successor, much to the chagrin of her incompetent brothers and cold mother. But that doesn't hold Se-ri back. She's ready to soar and conquer anything in her way. So she goes paragliding, gets swept up in a freak tornado, and crash-lands on the North Korean side of the DMZ. Enter Ri Jeong-hyeok, a stoic North Korean army captain, who immediately accuses her of being a spy. Se-ri manages to escape, leaves Jeong-hyeok stranded on a landmine, and tries to RUN back to South Korea. Along the way, we meet Jeong-hyeok's army unit, the Company Five, who are all on a mission to hunt her down. Then there's our villain, Lunatic Lieutenant Cho Cheol-gang, who ends up killing like 5 people, which is INSANE. And we get a quick glimpse of our second male lead, Gu Seung-jun. Finally, Se-ri stumbles into a village she assumes is in South Korea. But one look at the villagers and the North Korean propaganda posters plastered everywhere, and she realizes... she's really not in Seoul anymore. Episode 1 is a fantastic set-up with GREAT world-building.     The Glory Episode 16 | Chasing K-Dramas w/ Rek Lee | Korean Drama Podcast

SARANGEES! We made it. It's the FINAL episode of The Glory, and honestly? One of the best finales we've ever watched. Our friend Rek Lee is back on the pod to help us break down this episode and the series as a whole. The episode opens with Yeo-jeong confessing to Dong-eun that he knew about her schemes the ENTIRE time, but instead of turning her off, it makes her realize how much he likes her. Dong-eun then approaches Hye-jeong with a proposition: get revenge on Jae-joon by swapping out his eye drops and BLINDING him. It’s pretty brilliant. Yeon-jin shows up to the crime scene at Siesta and gets arrested. The white truck of doom appears and crashes into Jae-joon. Yeon-jin’s mom gets arrested. Do-young shows up to Yeon-jin’s prison just to deliver her divorce papers. With her revenge complete, Dong-eun ties up loose ends, including LEAVING Yeo-jeong behind at the beach, and visits Yeon-jin in prison one last time. There, she goads her, and we learn the truth behind who really killed Myeong-oh. With her revenge complete, Dong-eun decides to end her life on the same rooftop as So-hee, but Yeo-jeong’s mom stops her, begging her to help her son. Six months pass, and Dong-eun comes back to Yeo-jeong, where they share a kiss and decide to follow through on Yeo-jeong’s revenge plan against the crazy killer, and they recruit Hyun-nam to help. We end with Dong-eun and Yeo-jeong getting ready to fully execute their revenge plan. Then it's our final thoughts: the total body count, what we loved and didn't love about the ending, and our picks for the most epic revenge plan of the series. We pick up in the aftermath of Dong-eun's public takedown of Sa-ra and Yeon-jin, and the fallout comes fast. Yeon-jin stays defiant and lies straight to Do-young's lawyers, while Sa-ra, all fury and no strategy, screams her way into a jail cell. Hye-jeong finally plays the secret Myeong-oh recording for Jae-joon, and his response, weirdly, is a marriage proposal. Yeon-jin's mom, still being tailed by Hyun-nam's husband, panics and runs to her shaman for help. Yeo-jeong makes his next move, and it's a big one: he applies for a job at the prison holding his father's murderer. The walls keep closing in on Yeon-jin. A spicy confrontation with Hye-jeong bleeds into an even worse one with the police officer, who has quietly decided to blackmail her, and casually reveals that Myeong-oh's body has NOT actually been buried. And then, the grand finale. Dong-eun squares off with her psycho mom, and her mom responds by torching the apartment. Hello Sarangees! We're back with episode 13 of The Glory, and OMG, it's getting SOOOO GOOOD. Yeon-jin continues to spiral as she discovers that Dr. Yeo-jeong is the guy working with Dong-eun. Her mom is freaking out over terrifying texts from Hyun-nam's husband. Mr. Bob turns out to be a real big creep, and gets beaten to a pulp by Jae-joon. Jae-joon, then, gets beaten to a pulp by Do-young, who is absolutely enraged (and very sexy) over the fact that Jae-joon showed up at Ye-sol's school acting like he's her father. Do-young FINALLY blows up at Yeon-jin, and it's GREAT. Dong-eun's mom betrays her AGAIN, leading to one of the most emotional moments of the episode. Dong-eun, while crying her eyes out, gets approached by a crazy-looking Jae-joon, and Yeo-jeong comes to save the day. She doesn't cry for long, though, because the next day, she serves up the SWEETEST revenge on Sa-ra and Yeon-jin. This episode is NUTS, y'all.
