Pontiac Podcast Episode 7- Tiger's Revenge ( John Petze)

Tiger’s Revenge — A Life Story | John Petze | Pontiac Podcast What if the car you bought as a 17-year-old kid eventually became the connection between you and a family searching for a piece of their past? This week on the Pontiac Podcast, Curt and Eric sit down with John Petze, longtime owner of Tiger’s Revenge, a 1967 Pontiac GTO with an incredible racing history and an even better story. John bought Tiger’s Revenge in 1974, during the gasoline crisis, from a young family who had raced the GTO under the Tiger’s Revenge name. He had no idea that nearly 50 years later, the car would help reconnect him with the family who originally owned and raced it. After decades of ownership, an internet post asking, “Does anyone know what happened to Tiger’s Revenge?” eventually led to an incredible reunion with Mick McKinnon, whose family had raced the car when he was a kid. From the original racing days at New England Dragway, to John’s decades of ownership, the search for the car, the restoration, and a very special ride for Mick’s mother Lois, this is much more than a story about a GTO. It’s a story about cars, family, memories, and the people who keep Pontiac history alive. And of course, we’ll get into the Pontiac stuff too — including the car’s 400-based 461 stroker engine, producing approximately 430 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque. Tiger’s Revenge is back. And John Petze is here to tell us the whole story. In This Episode: The origins of Tiger’s Revenge Buying a 1967 GTO at just 17 years old The car’s racing history Nearly 50 years of ownership The internet search that changed everything Reconnecting Tiger’s Revenge with its original family Mick McKinnon and the McKinnon family story Bringing the GTO back to life The emotional connection to Lois McKinnon The current 461 Pontiac V8 And plenty of Pontiac bench racing! Pontiac Podcast with Curt & Eric Pontiacs. Stories. People. History. And a whole lot of bench racing. Tuesday, September 29, 2026 — Hanh Huynh Hits a Plakata!! (Fear Not, We'll Explain 😀)

This was a fine Tuesday crossword by Hahn Huynh. The theme was novel, and the supporting cast of characters elsewhere in the grid were plentiful and suitably perplexing. We had to rule out several obscure answers before solving 1D, Address ending that's not .com, .org or .gov, EDU (not MIL nor BIZ, and definitely not INFO). It took us a HOTMINUTE to figure out 25A, Pretty long time, in an idiom, HOTMINUTE (😀). And we could see two ways to go with 57A, Pitcher's asset, ARM (the right way), and AIM (the not-so-right way). We also have a splendid piece of listener mail that includes a slew of synonyms for home run, including, plakata (so now you know). Show note imagery: The SUN•MAID maiden, possibly wondering why it took her so long to get into the NYTimes crossword! We love feedback! Send us a text... Contact Info: We love listener mail! Drop us a line, crosswordpodcast@icloud.com. Also, we're on FaceBook, so feel free to drop by there and strike up a conversation!
