The Switchboard Calypso

(Verse 2) Number two get a dress in purple and a seat on the shelf, Number three look it up, say “the doctor must check himself,” SSH and a journal and a state-file to read — Three minutes of theater for a five second deed! (Bridge) But the fourth one, he learn us the lesson of the day: Fire the verb once, then step away, The ack say okay, the ack say true, The fallback net catch you — nothin’ you can’t do! (Verse 3) Then Fredrik, he say “make a new session called restaurants,” Born in a breath with the grammar in its bones, It recommend a dinner with a calypso smile, And it fly the man home in the very same style — (Outro) One word in the mornin’, one word late at night, Switchboard connection — everything connect right. The rooms keep a-waitin’, the whale keep a-breathin’, The line always open, that’s the day we believe in.
