Episode 10: Eugene Kurolap - Can You Really Make a Living Singing Out of Your Van?
Eugene was working a telemarketing job in Tel Aviv when a street singer told him she made his daily wage in two hours. That was the end of the job. He busked his way through Europe to Australia, found vanlife in Melbourne, and paid off about $11,000 of debt in a year from farmers markets and restaurant gigs. Now he lives in a converted step van that is also his recording studio and his stage – the side opens up, the curtains go up, the PA rolls out, and he plays. He talks through building it while living in it, how he plans his route around weather and permits, and the lessons he would carry into the next van – more battery, a better heater, and a van any mechanic can fix. His motto, painted on the back of the van – pursue your dreams or someone will hire you for theirs. Available on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts. www.vanlifeoutfitters.com
